Personally, I can see postitives and negatives for both Brunell and/or Campbell starting when it comes to strictly football terms.
But there is one intangible that REALLY makes me hope Gibbs starts Brunell... the boo-birds!
If Brunell plays, the boos will begin from the introductions... will grow when the Washington offense takes the field for the first time... will cascade down from the stands after the first incompletion... and will become deafening during the first three-and-out when Brunell throws a 3 yard dump-off on 3rd-and-8.
Add on to that the fact that 10%-20% of the stands will be filled with Cowboys fans, who hopefully will be adding their voices to the boos and cat-calls directed at the Skins offense.
Brunell takes away the homefield advantage for the Commanders, whereas starting Campbell will give the Skins fans at least temporary hope.
If Brunell plays, and we jump out to an early lead, the Washington crowd is primed to turn on their team. This could be one of the most entertaining road games to be at in ages!
