Will 2022 be a redux of 2018 for Cowboys

I'm getting a bad feeling that the Cowboys offense will suffer the same problems we saw in 2018 when we went with WR by Committee with no true # 1. It was a disaster and forced the Cowboys to trade for Amari Cooper.
I do think that we are in better shape than we were in 2018 talent wise but Lamb has yet to show he is a true # 1 WR, Gallup won't be available for several weeks into the season, and there is no reliable/proven # 3.
Dak has shown that he isn't a "Force Multiplier" who can make receivers better, rather he has shown that he needs talent to succeed. It will be interesting to see how we fare.

Hard to argue that it will not be similar to last season. I think Dallas will again win the division. Probably 11-12 wins. Look like a real contender at times. I think the defense gets better. So yeah a home playoff game with promise is likely.

The question is whether or not this team can win a playoff game. That’s the riddle.

I feel like this team is setup to fall apart with all the undermining Jerry did to Mike in the offseason. He is the T.O of owners.

I agree. Honestly the Cooper situation was so messed up. Trading him knowing that Gallup at best was going to miss 3-4 games, but most likely miss more and will take time to be confident on that knee. CD is the wild card if he does things they expect him to do it should be alright at least we have him and not group consisting of Twill and Bease.

They are less talented for sure and untill they show otherwise I'll also believe the current receivers have less of a repoir with Dak. Hopefully they are working on that outside of TC. If they can get back to running well like they did early last year it will help minimize the early receiving bumps I think they will have. After Gallup comes back from missing 4-6 games things should be going smoother for them I hope. But who knows maybe Dak and wash or Tolbert instant click and are perfectly fine.

In what world is 2022 versions of Cee Dee Lamb, Gallup and Shultz anything like what we had in 2018.
Lamb led our team last year even when we had Cooper.

Not only that, but Jalen Tolbert provides a lot of upside by all accounts so far. We won't count him yet, but that is upside
We also have Pollard as a wildcard. Way ahead of 2018
Sure, we always want more, but come on. Our receiver group is fine, barring injury.

You people

Up for worst post of the year award. Not even worthy of a legitimate response its so far off.

There was more going on in 2018 than just the lack of WRs. Who were these great WRs Dak was throwing to in 2016? You could say Dez, but when he was out for 3 games the Cowboys didn't skip a beat. Who was left? Beasley, TWill, Hurd, and aging Witten? I'm way more worried about our OL and run game.

WR was a concern entering the 2018 season and it’s a concern entering the 2022 season. We’re going to be playing the early part of the season with only one starting WR from last season. We’re going to try and make up for the loss of Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson with a rookie WR and a veteran who’s never had more than 735 yards. All the coverage is going roll over to CeeDee. I don’t have a very good feeling about receiving corp. If CeeDee gets injured we’ll have virtually nothing at WR. Even when Michael Gallup gets back it’s not like he’s going to hit the ground running. It takes most receivers a full year to get over an ACL and he’s been doing nothing but rehabbing. Our offense won’t be as good as last seasons. Our defense is going to have to be better this season to make up for the decline in our offense. We better hope we continue to get takeaways. No way can you lose receivers like Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson and not feel it. They counted for 14 receiving TDs last season. Good luck making up for that production with a rookie WR and a veteran who only had 285 yards and 2 TDs last season.
