Will age be a factor in this hire? Would Joneses be open to hiring 73 yr-old Saban? 39 yr-old Coen?

Because I'm inclined to think they're more likely to be interested in one extreme or the other. Just speculating.

NO on Saban but maybe take 2 would be better butadd meyer, pertno, and chip kelley all failed fast and hard...

Well Mike McCarthy is officially gone ,can we all sing the praises ,everyone who thought everything was leading towards him coming back were wrong and now we get to start over... I'm not sure who the coach is there's still going to be rumors that it could be Mike Zimmer but I don't want a guy who's on the verge of burnout being my head coach....

Anyone have a link because I can't find the official Mike McCarthy's out it should be pinned at the top but I probably have a guy blocked or something but I'd like an official one that we can comment on but I'm happy Mike McCarthy's out we get a do over...

While citing specifics, I'm asking the broader question. And I'm not asking what you think they should do, I'm asking for what you think is within the boundaries, if not the priorities, that they will do.

Put it this way.

Who here thinks there will be such an emphasis on experience and success that Joneses would be interested in Saban?

Same idea, other way around... who here thinks there will be a big emphasis on youth... the younger, the better?

I hope not Saban.

We need a younger coach. No Belichick either. He is nothing without Tom Brady. He left the Patriots in terrible position talent wise.

do you read the article it literally says that he's not ready to make the leap yet and you add his name in there I mean the article literally says that very thing I mean if we're gonna do that on a guy who's unproven as a head coach why not Kellen Moore or Cliff Kingsbury I don't see the difference they're both on teams that are doing very well on offense and they're in the playoffs right now I know right but I can see that happening.....

Teams are split down the middle what do you mean need a younger coach Jim Harbaugh everyone around here said they wish they had at 16,000,000 he's 61 years old and never won a Super Bowl... So where's the hypocrisy here you're picking and choosing but there's a lot of coaches over 60 years old still coaching and doing very well..

How about this I want a great head coach that knows how to pick coordinators why do we need a young head coach if he picks hot young coordinators?.

it didn't..

but add in meyer, pertino, and chip kelley all failed fast and hard from college...
Too many of these college coaches are used to having blue chip prospects coming in every year to their programs, that doesn't happen in the Pros...

This could be true but you never know maybe a second time around is the charm as they say maybe his first time caught him off guard second time you never know...

He quit on Miami a day after a press conference where he lied when he was asked whether he's looking to get out of his job in Miami to go back to college....don't want him and I don't think Jerry does either.

Maybe instead of Saban, I should have cited Pete Carroll... but regardless, the question is less about any one individual, more about how age may be a qualification factor.... or not. I think it might be, though, obviously or I wouldn't bring it up.

No way on Saban or Belichick for the simple reasons that they would be too expensive and they would overshadow Jerry.

He’ll hire whatever offensive coordinator kisses his arse the most. Moore, Kingsbury, Johnson and Slowik are most likely.
