This Dallas franchise continues in the downward trend. Meanwhile, we keep hearing how well the Cowboys draft

I say,,,,really?

Look at the past two seasons. I say both are POOR.
The 1st and 2nd round picks, the past 2 seasons have been close to bust/poor.
Mazi/Guyton were drafted to be immediate playmakers and near are. If they were not drafted as high as they were,
they both would be benched/backups

2nd rd: Schoonmaker is nowhere to be found and if he wasn't a 2nd rd pick, he would be cut

When a franchise pulls so much stock in their draft because they do not want to spend in FA, the draft better HIT or you see what happens.

Sorry, but McClay is the draft guy and he is the one the strongly lobbied for Mazi and Schoonmaker.

This franchise is in free fall and Al Davis ( aka: Jerry Jones) is too stubborn/Proud/arrogant to look in the mirror and is the ONLY ONLY ONLY
constant for a franchise that can NOT even play in a NFC Conference in the 21st Century ( Commanders the only other NFC team)

The people who are mainly telling you how well they draft are the Cowboys.

The biggest issue is the Jones insistence on meddling in the early rounds of the draft.

The second biggest issue is that the constraints placed on this team by Stephen’s incompetence puts a ton of pressure on them to “hit” on every draft pick.

Any doubt the Cowboys need to invest in the front 7 on D early and often in the April draft weren’t watching Kamara Henry & Montgomery run all over Dallas in 3 lopsided home loses . Not to forget what Aaron Jones did in the playoffs last year . When a team repeatedly gashes on the ground the passing game gets that much deadlier .

Is anyone really stupid enough to believe its McClay who makes the decision on who to draft?

I don’t think Jerry scouts prospects . He’s given a list by McClay and the scouts and signs off on a choice . The senior bowl trip he makes is to get out of the house .

The draft for this team is nothing but a family photo op and and chance shill new player gear. They haven't got a clue on how to build a contender. 30 years, a 54% winning percentage and a 5 and 8 playoff record for the acting GM. What else needs to be said.

I'm not nearly as down on Guyton as I am Mazi and Schoonmaker.

I think this year's class will be fine. McClay has had lots of hits to go with the misses. Overshown and Bland are huge recent hits. The overall level and amount of talent on this team from the draft is pretty good. The problem is there's no free agents supplementing it and our coaching/scheme is terrible.

Give us a Shanahan tree offense, Vrabel at HC and a mid tier RB and DL in free agency and this team is probably at least 4-2 and looking like one of the contenders in the NFC.

I think Schoonmacher has talent but he’s never targeted . After he leaves when the rookie contract is up another team will utilize him. Mazi Smith should never have been a first rounder . Linval Joseph is outplaying him

They do. Also, McClay doesn't make the picks.

Why do you expect rookies and 2nd year players to make an impact so quickly? Haven't heard of the 3 year rule?

You can't evaluate a draft in October...you also can't evaluate a draft without contextualizing it with other drafts.

2023 was terrible, top-to-bottom, for basically everyone.
