Only if a vet doesn't want it who knows
Some vets, like Jayron Kearse, can't change now because they'd have to buy out the existing stock of jerseys with their old numbers from the team's stores and don't want to follow Jaylon Smith's example.

And with it being the first time players can wear #0 in the modern NFL, I expect the team will see that Overshown gets the first opportunity.

You mean Kearse would have to buy both jerseys.

Overshown should absolutely have it. He wore it in college, and it makes sense with his name.

Actually, we need to stop with the number idiocy and get back to the old NFL rules on jersey numbers and positions.

In order to change to #0, Jayron Kearse would've had to agree to buy all previously printed Kearse #27 jerseys that were in stock.

That's what Jaylon Smith had to do when he switched to #9 a few years back.

Kearse decided to keep #27.
