Will We Have Any Compensatory Picks in 2024?

I'm just curious, because I don't know much about how the compensatory picks work. But I do know we traded a 5th rounder for Eric Scott, and a 4th rounder for Lance. Does that leave us with only 5 picks next year or will we have some extra picks coming back to us?

The one thing I'm seeing is they won't need as many draft picks next year because of the amount of rookies that made the team the last 3 years.

Also, UDFAs that go on IR or PS. I still like having picks. But there's also UDFA next year. We've done well there.

This year I have Thomas, Bell, Bass. Land, and Aubrey making the team. All of them undrafted.

Over the cap shows us getting a 5th (McGovern) & 6th (Schultz)

Noah Brown is listed as enough for a 7th but they have a limit on overall comp picks that makes it not qualify.

Schultz's contract has makeable incentives that could get his contract up high enough for a higher pick.

Thank Your explanation helps me see additional logic in how they played Schultz. Last year, by tagging him, and then this year in the draft. We could even get a return pick, which really bodes well for us given he's on a team like Houston, which sort of seems like our minor league team right now. (just kidding)

Now these picks we are trading make a lot of sense. We have a pretty ‘full’ team right now, with a lot of top players and a ton Of depth at most positions. If we kept those picks and picked 9 more players again next year plus UDFAs, no way all those guys make it on the team next year. I’d much rather have cooks and Eric Scott and Trey Lance as a lottery ticket than a random WR that has to try and unseat the depth we currently have

There's probably going to be a lot of turnover next year though. Lots of contributors who are up after this season. Off the top of my head:

Tyron Smith
Tyler Biadasz
Jayron Kearse
Gilmore
J. Lewis
Pollard
D Armstrong
N Gallimore
