Will we need to draft another WR?

In the higher rounds due to TOLBERT not being able to get on the field. I know it's early and things can surely turn out for the better. Please give your thoughts...

Fair question.

I’m willing to be patient with Tolbert. He might bust, but it’s common for receivers to need a year to get a handle on the offense. I’d feel way worse about Tolbert if there were tons of drops or off field issues, but that doesn’t seem to be the issue. Think about how long Noah Brown took to be what he is. Plus FA should have a bevy of decent WRs.

Unless a true WR1 (e.g. D. Smith) lands in my lap at my pick, I have more anxiety about future LG and CB before I’m looking at WR

Washington and Brown are on 1 year deals. So it depends on how happy the FO and coaching staff are with Fehoko or Tolbert becoming the WR3 behind CD and Gallup.

Or even further if CD or Gallup goes down, I guess ya gotta ask yourself are you comfortable with what you've seen thus far in either Fehoko or Tolbert being elevated to WR2.

Developing these guys plus their own offseason work they put in will be vital to future success.

But to answer your question, I would risk another 3rd rounder if someone I like was still on the board.

I'm not against a WR in the 3rd or 4th, but no sooner. It also all depends on who is left on the board. I am totally against a WR in the first round, but I thought Lamb was the right pick at the time.

Nope. The trenches is where you start especially when you have an OL rebuild going on. Tyron n Peters may retire, and McGovern is a UFA; therefore, it's better to draft a OL first.

WR is like the RB position now imo, there's so much surplus of talent coming in every year why spend a 1st round pick. You can get a guy in FA or 3rd to 4th round of the draft. Also, Dallas can develop guys they already have on the team even the PS.

I think we'll need a RB more than another WR....may lose both Zeke and Pollard next season. Uncle Rico .........maybe Malik Davis will show something, but still would like to draft one in the 2nd. Can get a blue chipper.

I wouldn’t mind adding like a Percy Harvin type weapon to the offense, but just maybe Turpin can be something like that.

Are you saying he's a bust during his rookie season?

They need to draft TE Mike Meyer in the first. Whatever the spot is. Dude could take this offense over the top. Yah....he's that good. Fred Beard good.

Do you really want an answer or do you just want to bash Tolbert...

They have 3 starting WRs now.
Lamb
Gallup
Brown

They just need to go ahead and re-sign Brown now.

Tolbert is a small college WR. He needs to to acclimate to the NFL. WR is the 2nd most difficult transition from college to Pro after QB.

Michael Irvin only started 10 games as a rookie 1st round pick on a bad team.

He did not surpass 32 catches in a season until his 4th year in the NFL.

Miles Austin didn't have a catch until his 3rd season and didn't start a game until his 4th season.

I would bring in somebody with high upside in the middle rounds every year to develop in today's WR climate..
We may not resign Lamb in a few years. Don't get in the situation where your no.1 can hold you hostage over negotiations.

It used to piss me off that the X would throw something away when it got old or worn out without getting a replacement.

Buy the replacement and then throw it away.
