Will we see a lot of Zeke being tackled in the hole this season?

With Frederick in the 'spital for a few months. Will we see a lot of -2 and -3 yard runs up the middle from Zeke this year? While the enemy MLB just knifes thru the swiss cheese.

In passing plays, center is probably the least important OL position after the snap though. It's on Dak to make the Cowboys offense great this season, more than Zeke.

Fortunately I think we've got a top 5 defense so there's that.

Maybe we should have moved up and drafted a QB instead of using our premium pick on a RB.

Lots of sweeps, tosses.offtackle.
Right. We don't run a ton of those with Freddy in the lineup because Freddy is the slowest center in the league (he's one of the smartest and strongest, but athleticism isn't really his thing, he's the opposite of Kelce).

Looney isn't fast either but he's roughly average I'd presume. If we could find a speed center similar to Kelce maybe we could do a lot more edge running plays like that.

Frederick has no problem pulling or getting to the second level. Dude is a beast of a center.

Mostly he's smart and blocks the right man in the right part of his body. But speed and acceleration aren't his thing, he was rated the slowest offensive lineman in years when he came out for the 2013 draft. Love the guy and he's all heart. The difference is, because of the speed a center like J. Kelce will block 8 yards downfield while Freddy will block 4-5 yards downfield, but Freddy is stronger so he has a better chance of blocking for longer once he gets his hands on you.

It's kind of give-or-take there. With Freddy at center you're more likely to get solid 5-6 yard runs up the middle with a chance for 15-20 yard runs (with an explosive back like Zeke), while with Kelce you're more likely to get the 9 yard runs but having less chance of breaking for much more.

Freddy's best second level blocks are on A and B gap or inside zone runs. However Freddy struggles with lateral agility so we usually run a below average amount of stretch, toss and screen plays. Martin (and probably Williams in time) are our best for that... as well as La'el at tackle.

Getting tackled in the hole is a world of pain.
Looney is a Gurode type of center, strong and solid, average intelligence, average athleticism. Expect a few bad snaps this year. Notice the bad snaps stopped happening (mostly) after 2012 when we drafted Freddy. Freddy is one of the best most consistent snapping centers in the NFL.

Any other team I would say no. Zeke is such a talent that he should produce even behind an awful OL.

But with this team you just never know how much 1 injury will effect the team.

Frederick going down makes me think the coaches will scale back on everything and go into a shell.

Mental toughness is not synonymous with a Garrett coached team.

This is the big worry, not the talent on the field

Wondering if should take Zeke in my fantasy league this weekend's draft. Picking 4th, I know Bell, Brown and Gurley will go top 3 for sure. Not having 2 of the best OL in game, may make me rethink.

Of course.

Zeke is going to get so many attempts and is a durable player.

If he does he will still lead the NFL in yards after contact
