Win one, lose nextone, sloopy team play==Attitude problem

I think I have finally figured out the Dallas Cowboy team.

Its their attitude.

This is comments from players last few weeks.

Marcus Spears; on our defense, you will get no sacks, or pressure from me, Fergeson, or Canty. Our defense is made to stop the run, then funnel pass rush to Ellis and Ware. WRONG ATTITUDE. I remember Parcells defense with Giants, and their defensive ends and Jim Burt would make sacks. Granted most of it was by the linebackers on sacks, but defensive linemen would sack QB too. YET, OUR YOUNG DEFENSIVE ENDS THINK ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS STOP THE RUN, THEN ITS UP TO ELLIS AND WARE TO GET SACKS.

Crayton; countless times he has stated he has to get his head in the game to play, and he wont scrare you on put returns, he just stands there. Wrong attitude.

Jason Witten, to best of my knowledge, this is his 4th year, yet, he just barely is above his blocking last year on runs or when pass blocking. Yet, he is 6-5, 265, you cant tell me, he hasnt tried to get in weight room, and streghten to get better at blocking and not jumping offides on plays.

Al Johnson, has been with team 4 years, the Cowboys have tried to get him to add weight and strength, yet he wont. Wrong attitude.

Flozell Adams, the Cowboys have tried to get him to wear and install a hearing aid, he refuses, WRONG ATTITUDE, YET HE JUMPED OFFSIDES TODAY, COULDNT HEAR SNAP COUNT PROBABLY, AND OG KOSIER SAYS HE HAS TO SHOUT AT HIM IN PLAYS ON PROTECTION SCHEMES.

I know you cant expect perfection from the players, you can never get that. Yet, I am beginning to think, they have the attitude of win, then its ok to lose, then we can win, then we can lose, its ok.

Best of my knowledge, we had that attitude when Jimmy Johnson came here in 89, he cleared house, then he got the Cowboys believing they were going to win and be dominant, have nasty attitude.

Then, you see our blitzes, sending 5, 6 or 7 players on blitz, yet we cant get there with the players. That to me is attitude and defensive coordinator scheming up plays to get players free. Look at the way the Giants blitzed us, the Commanders today, Houston first half, Eagles in Phily, yet, our defensive coordinator and defensive players cant get there on blizes. AGAIN ATTITUDE.

TILL THAT CHANGES GUYS, YOU CAN FORGET ABOUT WINNING.

We've won two in a row once this season. Not nearly good enough.

Then, I didnt mention the 12 penalities against the cowboys today, the blocked field goal that we could have won the game.

If you remember Wednesday pratice, Parcells said it was sloopy play, and he cancelled Fridays evening last pratice, cut it short because it was sloopy play.
Thats on the players, till they change, or get their butt kicked by Parcells or Jerry Jones, or whatever it takes to get them to play football like its suppose to be played, and not just win one game, then ok to lose next one, we can make it up.

Then, you can forget Dallas winning.

again and excellent thread...and I said it in another thread...there are too many mental midgets on this team...there are too many guys that are not winners...there are too many guys just happy to to be in the NFL...you cannot have these kinds of guys at as many positions as we do...having said all of that...if the Parcells era ends without a playoff victory BUT we find the long term solution at QB...hey I will take it. And right now it looks like we have found our QB. All that was left for me to see was the deep ball...and I saw it today...we just DROPPED IT!!!!!!!!!!

Right, some of the Cowboys, take Witten for example, he just got paid huge amount of money, but what does he do, false starts in each game he has played, just not caring, and stupid, the knucklehead.


you cannot have these kinds of guys at as many positions as we do...having said all of that...if the Parcells era ends without a playoff victory BUT we find the long term solution at QB...

I still want to see Romo some more, he did play good some, but dropped balls by TO and Glenn hurt, whereas TO too much showboating to my mind.

So, till the attitude of the players changes, or Parcells kicks the players butts, makes them fear him, then you wont see dallas winning till they do.I remember All Pro Guard Nate Newton saying, even year the cowboys won super bowl in 92, he said, he was scared that Jimmy Johnson would cut him at any time.

Till the players give a D... about winning, and not just pay checks or just winning to get coaches, fans off of their backs, but really wanting to win, and win super bowl, you can forget cowboys going anywhere.

Then, with our 3-4 defense, you have to have pass rush, we have none, till Marcus Spears, Chris Canty, gets off of their butts and plays like their capable of, and not just expecting Ellis and Ware to get sacks, you can forget Dallas having a dominant defense.

I dont like Cowher, never have, but wouldnt mind Fisher being our defensive coordinator, we need one bad, to get defensive players have a nasty nasty attitude on defense, granted we still need a good free safety and one more good pass rusher.
