Being that he has really come on the past couple of weeks, how will Johnson respond at C? We run the ball better with Gurode in, so will Johnson step it up being a smaller player. Something that concerns me heading into Philthy.:starspin

Who says he'll be out?

Where, when did you see that he would be out ?

I hadn't heard that yet.

I will be surprised if he is out.

I hope Gurode will be ready to play Sunday. The offensive line is just starting to show some cohesion. Al Johnson hasn't proven to me that he can physically dominant anyone on the defensive tackle or nosetackle positions.

No eye injury so he will not miss any time. He was ready to come back against TEN. Plus OL rarely bump heads more with the hands.

I don't think Gurode will be out but if he is this would be the game for it as the Eagles are not that big at DT and are playing a rookie at one spot (Bunkley) although Patterson can be a problem going against Rivera and Johnson.

Unless Gurode has more injuries than some facial lacerations & stitches I can't see him sitting this one out.

No reason he can't play with a repaired facial laceration. Typically, these lacerations heal enough in 5-7 days to remove the sutures. The only concern would be if there is significant swelling which could obstruct his visiual field but that is unlikely if it is managed appropriately. Reports were that he was bleeding through his dressing, I suspect a rudimentary repair was performed in the locker room and a more thorough repair closing multiple layers was done subsequent to the game.

"subsequent to the game" !

Subsequent ! ...

I don't hear that very often.

Very good, I am impressed. I need to work that into my vocabulary.

I havent heard one way or another, just thought he could miss time due to the injury. Hell, if he can play I say play him. I was just wondering you guys thoughts on Johnson at center if he has to be in there.

i just wanted to respond so that we could have back to back posts with Michael Corleone avatars..

I doubt Gurode will be out considering he just got his onion skinned up a little, but Al did a pretty good job when he replaced Gurode. I was really pleased with the entire line play overall. The first series was over quick, but they basically did whatever they wanted to with Tn. Adams looked especially nimble, or at least more than the other games.

Al Johnson played well in place of Gurode yesterday. To the point that a team or two has contacted the Cowboys for trading purposes, according to news briefs.

I feel confident that Johnson can come in and do the job. If we had to take an injury on the line, center position is at least a fairly deep area for us with a guy who has plenty of game experiance.

Thanks for the insight. I did not get a chance to see the 2nd half!!! Bit torrent anyone?:

IMO, he will play... Parcells said via PC that he was lifting this morning and did not expect him to miss any practice time.

I know that Haynesworth was no longer in the game, but Johnson played well in relief of Gurode. Just goes back to what Parcells said in the preseason about Johnson's ability to play well against 4-3 defenses.

I don't think Johnson is not starting because he's not capable of being a starter, but because Gurode is finally living up to his immense talent.

I agree. BP said it was close in training camp and if worse comes to worse I think Johnson can handle the job.

WHAT?!

Have you ever seen an offensive lineman's helmet? They don't smash them against brick walls to make them look like that.
