With Hassan Reddick needs surgery, do we keep our guys out?

This is the second Eagle player of note that has suffered an injury in camp. They say he will be ready to go in a few weeks but that seems quick for a repaired thumb. Shawn Bradley, backup LB and best ST player they have, is done for the year.

I am torn: play the guys even a little bit or keep the bubble wrap on? The thought of losing one of our o-lineman on a line already with little depth, and a player who always seems to get injured anyway, is the one thing that really worries me. What say you?

A lot of players come back quickly with a "club" when they have a repaired finger. I think you have to be strategic with using starters but you can't bubble-wrap them. Injuries are just part of the risk.

Whatever the plan was for Dallas, they shouldn’t change it due to injuries form other teams. Personally, I prefer they give everyone lots of game reps in preseason and especially, the O line and QB/receiver combos where the coordination and timing are so critical.

I don’t care about injuries though Martin or Micah would be painful. Just doesn’t scare me at all.

Considering how good our defense is, I feel better about the starters not playing in preseason. The offense is going against one of the best defenses in the league every day.

This is a contact spot and players can get hurt at anytime. It can happen in preseason or regular season games.

It is a balancing act because the team needs to be ready for the Giants. But their are bigger things to worry about than something you can't control like injuries.

Can’t play scared. Starters should at least play a quarter in this game, a half in game 3. I don’t mind them sitting in game 4 so bubble guys get the evaluation time.

Injuries suck. But they happen to every team, every year. Gotta put on the big boy pants and adapt when adversity strikes.

Playing not to lose, and playing not to get hurt just doesn’t work. Give 100% whenever you put the pads on in a game situation and let the chips fall where they may.

I would like to see the starters play even if it's 1 or 2 series.

Injuries are always a concern, but I would like to see starters play a series or two. They should get on the field together before they have to face the Giants.

I don't know why we keep going back to this, McCarthy has already said he has no plans to play any starters. He says he does it based on a gut feeling of how the team is preparing and it is also part of the reason why we did not scrimmage anyone else. He feels that we have good enough talent here to prepare for the season.

There's only 3 preseason games

Well I just read about this....but the eagles haven't let any of their starters sniff the field in a preseason game....

So what's the point here? He got hurt and he WASN'T playing in a game.

We should just not let anyone practice at all? Didn't Burrow get hurt just running down the field with no contact?

We should probably just save the starters for the super bowl game. Don't want them injured for that one

Sucks for Reddick he's a heck of an edge rusher. Hopefully he doesn't miss regular season games.

As long as they are practicing consistently, it is fine, but injuries can happen in practice too.

if you sit all your starters fir 3-4 weeks before season, the conditioning will suffer and it will lead to injuries and poor performance at least in initial couple of games

People can have their preferences but there is a reason why MM has been saying he believes that he can get his players ready for contact just with practice.

As long as Vaughn doesn’t play the rest of the pre-season. An injury might delay him ascending to Hall of Fame consideration.
