Witten as HC 2028. Are you ok with that?

Is everyone on board with Witten as HC in 3-5 years?

I'm coming around to the idea. Let him get on staff as maybe TE coach. Maybe a promotion to OC under an offensive HC and then once Moore or whoever flames out like we all think he will, Witten can step in as HC. At that point Jerry will be 85-87 years old, and maybe not even around anymore.

Let's face it, we are in a rebuild even if Jones doesn't want to admit it. As fans we need to be thinking about the long term and big picture, because we aren't going to be a contender in 25 or 26.

Witten hasn't even coached in the NFL yet.

If he wants to be a head coach he needs to go earn his way to it like Campbell and most other coaches do.

Great players don't always make great coaches and there are plenty of bad players who became great coaches.

At this point, Witten has coached a small private high school in a division with a small number of teams.

The best thing Witten could do if he wants to coach in the NFL is sign with a team to be their tight-ends coach or assistant tight-ends coach and then work his way up.

The more offensive systems he experiences the better.

Alot of things would have to fall into place. I'd want to see considerable NFL success as an OC before considering the move. He's currently a HS coach. Do the math.

Role players like Dan Campbell make better head coaches because they didn’t play as much so they sat back and observed more.

Jason Witten was not a leader here either. I don't think he'll magically become one as a head coach.

Maybe. We only know what he's done so far at the HS level has been ok. I don't get why some like the OP are so afraid JW could come in here do well and work his way into being a HC. Maybe he comes here and things do not work out, we don't know. I think people need to calm down and see what role JW gets and then give him time to make a name for himself in that role before we get all crazy about how he could one day end up as a HC. Maybe he would be really good as a walk around HC. Couldn't be much worse than mike who didn't know plays for 3 years and was softer than camp cupcake on players practicing.
