Cost, And we just dont need to invest more money for a stop gap guy, i dont care how much cap room we have, whats the point in reaching the limit for a guy that may not be able to do more than what we have on our roster. No one player is a sure thing for a team

Yes, but I also don't see it happening.

He'd be more than stop gap. He'd take care of the position for the next 3-4 years easily and would be a definite upgrade over anyone currently on the roster.

I voted yes but not as upset by Dallas not signing him as some seems to be. I think Davis is a good player but not great and in the meantime the team has their sights set on getting RW resigned as well as the picks. This team will survive not signing Davis

That pretty much sums up my thoughts on the deal. I'd rather have him as a stop gap than Coleman. But like most everyone else I realize that it's not going to happen.

iF YOU going to the superbowl and give your rookie time to develop behind a multi-talented guy that plays coner and defensive back, you should count this as depth also, just in case someone goes down like Anthony Henry you have quality depth behind depth, it really helps.

Jacques Reeves should be more on special teams learning from the experience vets, so when he get out there he'll be pro bowl material.

Dwight Smith has great experience. He also won a superbowl before and that helps to have superbowl experience, them guys make good locker room guys because they've experience it, so that should hype our secondary, defense and even the team with that superbowl experience.

Yes, as a 2 or 3 year sign, I'd be for it. Not a break the bank type deal but a good contract that accomidates his talents, yes.

Having said that, I have to believe that if we are not trying to sign him, there is a very good reason for it. He is a very good talent at a position of need that would cost us nothing in the way of picks. If we're not trying hard to sign him, there is a good reason for it.

Yeppers. I think he's just what we need next to Hitman Roy. It would solidify our secondary perfectly.

However, I think our secondary will be very solid anyway and I think Watkins has a chance to be a special player... so if we don't get Smith, I think we'll be just fine.

So either way, I'm happy.

Edit: Let me clarify: I think we'd be better with Smith, but I think we'll be fine without him. Coleman has more left in the tank than a lot of people think, IMO and Watkins should see some action, situationally. Between the human target, Keith Davis, Coleman and Watkins... and maybe even Beriault, I can see our FS spot doing very nicely.

Don't discount Reeves seeing some time at FS, too. I think he'd be dynamite there and a very similar player to Smith. If we don't make a move for Smith, Reeves could well be the reason.

we already have one of the best secondaries in the league, who else can say that they have 3 corners capable of starting for any team, and a SS like Roy WIlliams?
