Here is a comparison of season-long receiver stats between Receiver A and Receiver B:

Receiver A

79 receptions for 1189 yards and 8 TD's

Receiver B

69 receptions for 838 yards and 6 TD's

How much would you pay Receiver A and how much is Receiver B worth?

I'm paying WR A 20M per and Wr B something around vet minimum. (and launching my official campaign for a cowboy front office position)

That's an awfully big difference in price tag for 10 receptions and 2 TD's isn't it?

But yeah, you might get hired!

Who is recevier A and who is receiver B? lol

I'd like to know who they are and what team they play for so I can judge their talent and see if they are only productive because of their situation.

I am drafting WR C....

J / K

I have no idea because I do not get into all the contracts and what they are worth and salary cap implications and such.
I leave that for those on here to inform me, with facts and / or opinions.

I'll quickly let the cat out of the bag.

Receiver A is Amari Cooper and his 2019 season. A guy we're likely to pay close to $20 million a year for.

Receiver B is the washed-up, all done Dez Bryant and his 2017 stats. A guy that many don't even want to give a chance.

Given all of the talk about just how awful Bryant was the last time we saw him, I wanted to compare that awful to the guy we're about to make the highest paid WR in team history. Not to bash Cooper, but to give some people some much needed perspective.

If that's all you are basing your decision on you are going to miss half of the picture.
Chemistry, potential, scheme, and game film have to be included in the decision.
Stats don't tell the story.
Intangibles do.

Better to miss "half" than all, with your "intangibles" nonsense.

Intangibles do.

Seriously? Where are they located on the scoreboard?

Unmeasurable "intangibles" tell the story, but "stats don't".

Hang your head.

Very nice. I would like to get Coop for around 18. Maybe even tag hm this year and see how he does. Dez I would give a try out during camps. He isn’t worried about money anymore. If he could come in and produce those stats or close to it in limited rotational role. Maybe even punt returns.

Amari Cooper contract situation is very frustrating.. Dallas should've got this done sooner.

He has almost 100% of the leverage too.

About the only thing we could do is just waive him goodbye and move up in the draft for Lamb or Jeudy.

Dak has to have that guy though.

Intangibles do.

Unfortunately the folks making the decisions don't consider any of that.

The intangibles are what make the difference in the Won/Lost stat- the only one that matters.

This might be the deepest draft for WR in 20 years. If ever there was a year to need a wr, this is it. The class is 5 rounds deep which means Lamb and Juedy can slip.

Yeah I just don't see either guy falling to 17.. I guess it could happen but it would be a shocker.

I love this WR class but trying to sort them out is nearly impossible.

I like the USC guy.. Big fluid WR that can make the contested catch but there really is 10 or 15 starting caliber WR's.

Jeudy looks like an Antonio Brown starter kit.

Lamb looks like a Deandre Hopkins starter kit.

I'm just pointing out the lack of perspective and outright hypocrisy of some people's opinions around here. One guy is worth paying the moon for, and the other guy is "terrible", and "washed up". Based on a difference of 10 receptions, 3000 yards, and 2 TD's.

This isn't advocating for Dez Bryant to replace Cooper before anyone gets that silly idea. But it's about pointing out the foolishness of people who try to claim that Bryant was washed up in 2017. As the only receiving threat in a Scott Linehan offense, when excuses are made all over for the RB being suspended and the QB's struggles.

If people don't like Bryant personally, that's fine. Just say that. But don't try to falsely categorize him as washed up when we're about to give Cooper a huge payday. All they succeed in doing then is looking foolish and uninformed.
