Paul didn't have the world wide fame of Bruno Samartino but in Florida, Georgia and especially the mid-Atlantic area Paul Jones was a legend as both a wrestler and a manager.
Not a big guy much of the time he was a heel and was a frequent opponent of then NWA champions Jack Brisco and Terry Funk. In addition he held various tag-team belts over his career.
He was also one of the few wrestlers to use the Indian Death Lock as a finisher.
After retiring as active participant in the ring he became a renowned heel manager.
