So I like mysteries and intense shows/movies that make you want to curl up into a ball and watch it with the lights out at 2am. I started watching the X-Files because of a friend who said it was surely for me.

Now don't get me wrong I like the show and the storylines are wack. But doesn't it seem like too many crazy things happen to two people? it's kinda unrealistic like that. I mean abductions, cancer, cover ups, travelling all over the world, ghosts, aliens... it goes on and on. Like I said, Awsome to watch but as a whole it just seems a little unrealistic and loses it's luster.

What do you think?

I would venture to say that most shows are unrealistic because stuff has to constantly happen to the characters they're focused on or viewers would lose interest.

Plus, in the case of X-Files, they have a reason behind those two constantly having weird stuff happen to them. Their entire job is investigating weird stuff. So, it only makes sense.

i watched a little bit of it but really couldn't get into it. too weird for me. i had a co-worker once who just loved it.

Exactly, it doesn't just happen to them, they go out to where these things happen.

That is true. Stuff constantly happened to the doctors in ER or House, M.D. or any doctor show. Same goes for Law & Order or any cop show.

LOL well I like stretching my imagination and I know these episodes are from 1996 and stuff but I haven't seen them so they're new to me.

And I guess it's true that they are investigating this stuff and putting themselves in the situations. Some of the stuff is so creepy!

In all seriousness, it's a great show and you will enjoy it if you can get into the premise that they get all the files that seem "out there". You'll want to bail once Duchovney leaves the show, though.

Happy Watching!

No way. The Robert Patrick episodes are really good. I actually got to the point where I almost liked him as much as Duchovney.
