Yankees acquire Ichiro Suzuki

It's not the guy I would have gone after... But what the heck.

They needed an outfielder. Swisher is on the DL and that injury may actually take longer then first expected plus, Gardner has been injured on and off a lot of the season. They have Jones but he's older and he may not be a guy who can last the entire season if the Yankees get late into the playoffs. I understand why they did it. I would have rather seen a pitcher and we still might but I get why they made this move.

Yanks know he is in decline, but then again they didn't have to give up much for him either and the Mariners are paying most of his remaining salary.

The change will do him good. Although, I'm not thrilled about the Yanks giving up young prospects for older players.

Especially pitching prospects. Ichiro will do fine in New York, heck he might even get his first ring this year.
