Looks like the Yankees are interested in signing both Crawford and Lee. At first, it appeared as if Crawford might be a backup plan if Lee did not sign but now, it looks as if the Yankees may actually be looking at bringing Crawford over, in addition to Lee.

Yankees are proposing their latest offer to Lee this week, possibly Wed., and that deal is going to be a 6 year deal, according to reports. Lee wants 7 years. However, it's been rumored that the Yankees may be willing to offer 25 million per year on a 6 year deal. That would certainly be the highest offer on the table regardless of years.

With regards to Crawford, the Yankees believe that they are in a position to offer Crawford a deal that would exceed the Werth deal, earlier this year. Perhaps as much as 7 years 160M.

Yankees would likely have to have Pettitte retire and move either Granderson or Swisher via trade but that is certainly do-able. Both those players have significant trade value.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Why can't the Yankees have home grown talent instead of spending a lot of money on free agents? Yankees suck.

Rangers are going after the exact same players. Why is it just the Yankees?

I highly doubt the Rangers are going after Lee AND Crawford. Its most likely one or the other.

Still, it's the same two players. I mean, I guess I don't see the difference.
