OK, you are the Cowboys GM for this exercise. Using the Big Board listing below, make the selections for the Cowboys if you were to have the power. Feel free to lock the Joneses out of the war room for this.

Rules for this exercise:
  1. No trades. Draft based on the Cowboys draft slots as they sit at this moment (picks 24, 56, 88, 126, 165, 178, 201).
  2. You can only pick players rated either at the number slot of your pick, or ranked below that number. For example, you cannot pick the #1 ranked player at #24, but you can pick the #27 ranked player.
  3. No trades of players on the roster for other slots in this draft. Only work with the existing selections that the Cowboys have in the draft as of today.
  4. Did I mention no trades?
  5. Use the Oliver Hodgkinson board by selecting him in the analyst pulldown.

I was tempted by Wyatt at #56, but I just would have like to seen more production from him. I believe he red-shirted his freshman season but played four seasons at Georgia, which means he should have had an advantage among his peers as an older player. The season he had last year is what I would have expected during his third season.

I can see all the above reasons to pick differently @24 I want Green that’s all.

Yeah, on reflection, I'm not sure he's not more of what we already have in Gallimore. Not sure I wouldn't prefer Harris at 56 and a true 1-tech with some pass rush upside like Jones at 88. But that would have forced me to miss out on Ingram and I didn't really see a plug and play starter at OG after him.

Harder to do without knowing who all we lose to free agency and/or cap casualties. For example, if Amari Cooper is gone, WR becomes a much more significant need. For this exercide, I'll assume Cooper is still here.

24 Ikem Ekwonu G NC State
56 Daxton Hill S Michigan
88 Kyler Gordon CB Washington
126 Sean Rhyan T UCLA
165 Esezi Otomewo DE MInnesota
178 Travis Jones DT UConn
201 Marcus Jones CB Houston

Oliver's board is serioulsy flawed. 24, 88, 126, 178, and 201 are never ever gonna happen

#24 Jermaine Johnson
#56 Devonte Wyatt, and I am leaving scorch marks on my way to the podium
#88 Damone Clark. I have no clue how people are so low on him... he's actually ranked #148 on Hodgkinson's board.
#126 Jake Ferguson

Don't like that I wasn't able to grab a good LG, but I added some ballers to my front seven.
