I keep trying to think of a reason why they would redo Zeke's contract but there isn't anything. Cut him, if he chooses to re-sign then fine, at a pittance.

I would just cut him now, no June 1st cut. Eat all the dead cap now, with no dead rollover into next year. Still adds 4.8mil in cap space right away.

Oh ok didn't know that, hey sign me up lol. I'd rather have the 10+ money for the draft and other small signings

Can't use the money until later though
You extend Smith, lower his cap. Release Lewis and get another $5 million back. This gives you money to sign 1-2 solid players.

Release Zeke post June 1st and you get the benefit of that in the future.

Let's not limit yourself, what about tank and those other deals

If Dallas makes an adjustment with Zeke/Tyron in the next few weeks it means they are getting a wide receiver.through a trade or free agency. I think they are saving these guys contracts for the drafted players and summer extensions for Diggs, CeeDee and Steele.

They likely will if needed. His cap hits after this year are $16 million then $3. They will restructure him to help the other big contracts needed

This might not suit everyone here but I'm in favor of Zeke being cut outright and Tyron being as healthy as he's able to be. He's good when he's at his best and of no help whatsoever when he's injured and out. Here's hoping our gallant leaders ( Jerry & Stephen) can negotiate with him to adjust his contract accordingly. Here's also hoping we'll procure a promising candidate to replace him in the upcoming draft. It's about time for that to happen. He's served us well for many years but his health just isn't reliable enough to count on him any longer. As far as Zeke is concerned, there are many RBs in the upcomiing draft to replace him with. Here's hoping we'll get around to that very soon in the draft. He's been great but all things must come to an end when the time is right.

The reason they keep Tyron is because when healthy, he’s still an elite tackle.

I’d much rather play Tyron than Ball or Waletzko.

Cut them both and free up 24 million. Easy decision.

Tyron still has some value with the hole at LG and the uncertainty of Steele being ready to start the year. But, not at his current hit.
See no point to cut him now when our backups of Ball, Waldo and Farniok aren't really ideal if they suffer any type of setback/new injury.

I have said this many times since he signed the deal, Zeke's contract was specifically designed so that he could be cut after the 2022 season. That's when they get out from under that (heavily loaded back end of) deal with the smallest amount of dead cap space. If he signs back on for peanuts I'd be happy to have him. If he doesn't, we are most likely drafting his replacement anyway.
ps. How many are interested in Miles Sanders if the igglets let him walk?

If I'm Jerry I'm talking to Tyron about redoing his deal all together. If not, at the very least I'm restructuring it to make more cap room. But I'd rather he stay than release him. Dude can still be dominate when he's on the field. We aren't so deep that we can't use his services.

I understand that and am hoping for a prime draftee to be selected to take up where Tyron leaves off next season. I feel like it's time for him to think about retiring, since his health isn't nearly as reliable as it used to be. Of course, until another is procured to replace him, it won't happen. Let's just hope that it's on the agenda before it's too late for him to be replaced adequately. Ball isn't a good bet to replace him and Waletzko may not be, either. We'll wait and see what develops with him in the weeks to come, no doubt. In the meantime, we'll rock on with Tyron, for sure. He'll likely be convinced to accept a salary adjustment, I think. Let's hope so, anyway. If and when he can't play hurt, let's hope we'll adjust with Tyler Smith in the meantime.
