I couldn't imagine the personal life for Zimmer. Loses his wife suddenly years ago while with the Bengals. Then his son 13 years later.

No person should bury their children.
A complete nightmare. I can’t imagine loosing one of my family members, 2 in that time span is horrible.

Jesus….he seems so angry..no wonder I didn’t know he’s lost a wife and child. I feel bad for the guy. He seems to feed off football so for him I hope he finds some comfort there. Sorry on the losses Zim.
Only the strongest of people can do it. Some fold and some fight through it

All deaths to loved ones are painful , but a parent losing his child has to be the most painful ever. My prayers and condolences to MZ ..

Such a sad story, that I think about often.

The usual ways to die that quickly from alcoholism that young are to drink yourself into a coma or to abruptly stop and then deal with seizures. I'm sure the firing didn't help matters either.

Reminds me of the old Miami QB David Woodley. Think he had a liver transplant in his 30s and was dead by 44. Such a cruel disease. Hope Zim finds peace. He's dealt with a lot.

I can’t relate but I hear it’s something you never get over. You just cope. I can’t imagine burying the babies I’ve raised and taken care of 30 years later. I feel for the guy.
I was watching a special on Doo Koo Kim who died after his fight with Ray Mancini.

The tragedy was compound by his mother committing suicide within a year of his death. She couldn't face another day of him passing away

But I've personally know quite a few people who have lost a child.....some have figured out that they have to be strong for the rest of the family and have grieved but moved on.....but others havent appeared to have moved forward.

These things reveal how people cope with such tragedys.......no right or wrong way imo.
