The greatest Dallas defenses played the same way. We had four monsters up front who smashed you in the mouth on every play. Then, just when you thought they were bad enough, you had to contend with blitzing LBs & Safeties-even a corner once in a while.

from what I recall watching the team in the mid 70's and early 80's they rarely blitzed at all...the front 4 got almost all the pressure and sacks themselves and there was no reason to blitz...seemed like around 1983 Landry started toying the the 3rd down defense more though and then we did start blitzing more...I believe the 85 team has the unofficial season high for sacks in franchise history...
