Would anyone here object to Cam Scattebo in the 3rd round ? Say we resign Rico and get Cam, I think that is an improvement over this past season. Also I was on fanspeak draft simulator and drafted Shemar Stewart Dl/edge in rd 1, and Derrick Harmon DT in rd 2. Then came rd 3 and Scattebo was there, and I took him BPA scenario

I would love to have him but I don't see a scenario where we get him. We need to draft a RB in the first two rounds and Scattebo isn't falling far enough to pick him up in the 6th or 7th round.

I could see him being a high 5th in this draft. If I had to guess, I would predict 4th, but I think him going at the top of the 5th is possible

Would be a good pickup then, but a bad pickup if we also did not draft an RB earlier.

I mean, if we got Omarion Hampton in the second, re-signed Dowdle and took Skattebo in the fifth, I'd say there's a good chance we fixed our RB concerns. And that's not even taking into account this staff being able to do something with Vaughn.

I think Skattebo will go earlier than the fifth, but the idea still holds. Replace him with someone like Ollie Gordon II and I'm OK with that.

Pure gold.

I worry about going into the year with Rico and Skattebo. I'd be fine making him a draft target if you moved on from Rico though. I think they should look for a back with some better straight line speed to compliment a guy like Rico rather than bring in more of a bruiser like Skattebo.

Gordon will also go before the 5th but I get with you are trying to say

Big mistake to pass on him. Yes, I would draft him as early as rd 3. He's just a really good player that plays with tenacity. Gives his all. Hard to bring down. Our team can use this.

Skattebo is all football player, but I want to see how he runs. Size/speed combo is super important for RBs.
Don't care one bit how he looks in shorts. He will test average to poor. Don't care. I just know how he plays in big moments and is very reliable. He's one of those players that you must trust what you see from him on tape over his measurable s

Average size/speed RBs who run hard are the cheapest and easiest to find players in football. Look at Rico, for example. 1072 yards on 4.6 YPA and we got him as a UDFA.

If you are drafting an RB with any sort of valuable pick, he needs to have some wheels.

Cam has enough wheels and then some. Catches passes too. Ask Texas.

I see Cam with a lot of injuries and concussions in his NFL career. He’s like a bowling ball of knifes.

Starting to look at Skattebo's role as an RB2/3rd down RB because of how well he catches the ball. Cam's play style doesn't seem sustainable, so putting him in a committee should benefit him.

He should go in the 3rd or 4th round.
Combine prediction:
5'8 212
4.56 40
Test well on agility drills.

Let's not get caught up on the combine stuff. Did anyone here see the impact he had against Texas and the games leading up to that? Let's not diminish this kid. In the right system, he can be special. Now I would not use him as an every down back, but I would use him in a committee. I can see a team like the Panthers or Raiders taking him. Both could carve a role for him.

He would not be my RB1. I do want to see his combine numbers because what he did in college is different than the speed of the game in the NFL. Just look at Deuce Vaughn. NFL players gobble him up. We want to see Scattebo's 10 yard split, and agility drills. He needs to show quickness in the cone and shuttle drills.

But what he does have is the mental and physical toughness of an NFL player.

Still I would prefer for Dallas to draft a guy with more speed.
