Current Cowboys cap space 2025

I honestly, I could see them leaving Dak's contract in place. No restructuring ........just me, but I get the feeling Jerry has his mind made up that he's moving on from Dak after this contract.
Yeah it'll be one of the major stories this offseason in my mind. If they do elect to restructure it likely means Dak is with us the next four years. If they don't it likely means he is on the hot seat.

To me it makes sense to let Daks contract go untouched as there is a ton of risk coming of the hamstring injury, but once March 16th gets here his base salary for 2026 becomes guaranteed so Jerry may have no intentions of letting him go just because of the cash owed.

I get some here dont like the HC hire (Im wasn't a big fan myself) but they went out and got him the assistants he wanted, I have this crazy idea, do the restructers needed to go get him the pieces he needs to inact his plan..they bought into the plan to run the scheme..GO GET HIM THE PIECES JERRY..if it doesnt work then you can hang it on him..
At some point you have to ACTUALLY go ALL-IN with this veteran all pro group.
If they simply hated Big Mike and let him suffer last year, then going all in this year makes a lot of sense.

100% you told us how much BS plan moved you and how much you loved him..so show me Jerry go get him the pieces he wants and if he fails you can truly for once blame the HC.

Of course, 2028 is the final year but the contract looks tradable after the 2026 season ( of course with NTC waived ).

The NFL is expecting a much bigger cap space increase then the sites are using.

But the Cowboys are going to need at least 30M of that internally. If they only flip switches to clear 30M then expect another off-season of suck.
Anyone that wants to eat 89 for Dak this year is saying cool, cool lets tank this year so we can cut Dak for nothing next year.
Thats brain dead but would be par for the course of this front office.

Not that it means a lot but I have seen at least two mocks of us trading 12 and 2026 1st to Browns for Garrett.

You are doing Dak release math all wrong.
He has GTD money so can't be released next year post June 1st at massive savings.
  • $40M 2026 salary fully guarantees March 16, 2025 (injury guaranteed at signing)

Bringing Garrett home makes a lot of sense.
But you'd sure hope to get a better deal than that because you also need R1 picks after getting so little thus far from the last 2.
Maybe a trade down at 12 then you trade that bounty. OR trade down and keep the highest pick but trade the R2 and next year's R1.
Sweeten with a player or two.

Since Garrett has asked for a trade and will cost a literal fortune; I think CLE will have to take 75 cents on the dollar.
While Garrety tis better than Micah, Micah is a lot younger and should have a bigger market.

Jerry didn’t know what the hell he was doing when he agreed to Dak’s current contract and has no idea what the hell he’s doing now. Dak’s current contract has not gone into effect yet and you think idiot Jerry “has his mind made up that he’s moving on from” it?

he just knew he was doing something special fans had never seen before lol

Ok what is the number then to release him in 2026?
102M. He'd get 40M for the 2026 season. If kept past Mid-March....
  • $45M 2027 salary fully guarantees the 5th league day of 2026 (injury guaranteed at signing.

The deal was always signed to favor Dak much like the Zeke deal was signed to favor Zeke.
There are no easy outs 'til 2027.

If they leave Daks contract alone his cap numbers will look like the following:

2025 - 89M
2026 - $67M
2027 - $61M
2028 - $71M

If they dont touch is deal this offseason and make him a June 1st cut next year his cap hits would look like this:

2026 - $27M

2027 - $33M
I could live with that.

jerry loves you guys. look at you trying to make this crap show work. can you do next year and the year after? lmao....

Eagles keep counting on the cap increasing, figuring it will mitigate the pain when the bill is due. Howie putting that business degree from Univ. of Florida and JD from Fordham to use.
Eagles doing it how 30 other teams are doing it at QB.
Cowboys doing it so Dak shoulders all the blame for a bad roster.
Insanity.
Dak's deal is set up to flip the restructure switch but only after the Cowboys spend all off-season screaming about being broke.

But Dak signed the deal knowing all that so that's on him.

How all these guys keep willfully wasting prime years of their lives not competing for a title is beyond me.

i wonder the same thing, why would any player sign here that is serious about winning.
