Freaking love it! So jealous this stuff wasn't around when I was playing in college!

No Fun League

It has nothing to do with fun.

Anyone who has played the game knows how important to see the opponent's eyes. Imagine if the center could not see the eyes of the MLB?

Or the DB could not drive off the eyes of the QB? Or the QB could not direct a DB with his eyes?

There is a subtlety of the game that would be completely gone and the true football enthusiast would know this.

A coloured visor is just stupid fashion and doesn't make football better. It's like saying matched coloured gloves makes the game more fun. Nonsense.

Has nothing to do with that (primarily). They "ban" them because it makes it difficult for trainers and coaches to view a player's eyes in the case of a serious injury (to able to see if the player is conscious). Even the slightly tinted ones are banned in high school and college ball.

They have a purpose though; just like sunglasses for baseball players.

That's correct. League says it's a competitive advantage to not be able to see opponents eyes
I don't think that is it as the players can wear dark visors... just not mirrored.

I think it is because they don't want the sun/lights reflection temporarily blinding the opposing player.

Maybe I'm wrong but I've never heard the "eyes" thing and they do wear dark visors... so...

Lol. Clearly you never played the game and are not an enthusiast.

Sorry I meant to put tinted. I believe the NFL allows 20% tint. Allowing the dark visors. Kam, Vick, Dawkins back in the day.

I could be completely wrong, but I remember it being not allowed for competitive reasons.

This is just what I remember hearing and reading about. So I could be wrong
