FA Wishlist

I would stay away from Diggs and Campbell. Those are guys you hire if you need a player or two to fill in. Maybe you get Diggs if he will play on a cheap contract to be with his brother. And maybe they start a healthy competition between each other and both play better. But there is no way I get out over my skis on contracts for those guys. Greenlaw would be a nice add if he can play but with Overshown out with injury I would look for someone more reliable.

Someone mentioned Milton Williams and I would go after him if the Eagles let him get away. He would be the best DT the Cowboys have had in years. I would still draft another guy in the first 2 rounds.
Adding to your team, while taking away from your number 1 competitor, makes too much sense for GM Jethro.

I know, who are we kidding - but if you had your choice of 3 FA's who would it be (including our own if you wish) - trying to make it realistic as possible money wise. Not just picking the top 3 available

This is going off of PFF rankings

11. Stefon Diggs - WR - this one just seems like a Jerry special. Gets the Diggs brothers and he's coming off a season ending inj. Might come cheaper

18. Dre Greenlaw - LB - good coverage LB who would fit the new defensive scheme. Just need to make sure Achilles injury is healed - HUGE need

53. Calais Campbell - DT - dude might be in a walker still playing, but he's effective as they get against the run. Not sure if he comes back, but a 1 yr deal who fit perfect, especially if they draft a couple DTs this year. Only thing is, he's not quite the pass rusher he use to be and that might not fit. Jarran Reed might be a better fit, but you'd have to give him a longer deal and he's already 32...
Have you SEEN our coaching staff???? We don't need any free agents around here... our coaches will carry us to victory!!!!

Jerrys list: 1) over pay Micah 2) yacht south of France
You forgot the real #2, pay off court settlements and then the yacht follows. And if we want to be truly accurate, Parsons comes last right before the season begins

I would say Diggs would be my big FA signing. He has the ability to be a #1, but you could get a #2 which might inspire a little comp with his brother, and get a wonderful outcome. If not, then you have a #3 pick and a #4 to develop. Either way CD is your #1, and should get most of the attention.

Then I would sign Gholston and probably Carl Lawson (fairly inexpensive FA ), unless Tank signed on the cheap. Dallas needs run stoppers who can pressure. Kneeland is one based upon his draft status. Gholston and Lawson can battle it out with SWilliams for the other spot and playing time.

Draft seems to fall pretty well for getting 3T, and 1T - possibly even a pressure DE (Stewart, Scourton, Green, Pearce, Carter) or Hybrid (JWalker).

Mlb is tough though. Overshown, Liufau, and Clark are all closer to Wills than Mlbs. Parsons might need to learn to play this position some, depending on the draft. (not many legit Mikes in this draft)

We're still going to count on players coming off ACL's? Have we not learned?

I think this is a thinking man's list. All of these would be low risk (assuming Jerry is confused what year it is and gives them 2021 contracts for the 2025 version of these guys)

Maybe you hit on 1 or 2 of these 3, and get reasonable production. We'll suck anyway, so best shop at the thrift store and not sink our future deeper than it already is

wouldn't mind a reunion with cb chavarius ward.
i've always like dt jerry tillery...wouldn't hate his addition, either.
would love nick bolton or lavontae david at lb.
would love wr james proche...big fan of his at smu.
i'm not expecting much if anything.
draft or bust with this f/o.

We need to sign Garrett as an advisor. Next we need 6 new defensive linemen. I would also prohibit any future George Strait shows at AT&T.

i'd love it.
but not sure if jerry would.
No, but our only hope is imaginary. So this is the best time of the year for Cowboy fans. The dead time of our season, when we can dream, before GM Jethro screws it up.

If the new Head Coach grabbed imput and not credit, this is what I would do.

Resign Osa, Lawrence, and Lawson. Do what it took to trade/sign Bosa. Sign a stable free agent linebacker.

Get all injury players back up.

Work like hell to get all under a projecting and expanding cap picture.

Via the draft, come out with an offensive lineman such as Banks and start him at right guard for an interior 3 line projecting a very top shelf for 10 years.

Do some trading in the draft that by the end of day two has a very strong defensive tackle, running back, and very fast receiver.

Even interior defensive linemen like Teair Tart and Poona Ford could be had for a song this offseason. Tart comes with baggage, but he finished last season as the 12th-highest graded DT and is predicted to cost just $2,500,000 in free agency. Ford is predicted to demand just $3,500,000 and he’s coming off a season where he graded as the fifth best DT.
