Witten is not ready for an NFL job. He's coaching high school kids right now. I think he will need at least a year or two on a college staff before we can even entertain him becoming an NFL assistant, let alone a head coach.

I am a Witten fan and I could be dead wrong, but this is how I see it.

After knowing this guy for 30 years you still havent developed a feel for the person he is? Not meant as critique.

The guy just wants to create hype. Just look at what we have to offer for coaches to come here. Then you certainly will not fall again for this crap our FO is trying to sell us. Nobody who has some talent will come here and coach for us. Everything is just a setup by the Joneses to stay relevant in the media.

I think you misunderstand. I said all along we would get either a burnout retread or a hopelessly unqualified newbie...which we did. I'm saying I'm surprised Jerry didn't hire Witten because it would have taken the unqualified newbie thing to a while new level of stupidity, which is Jerry's stock in trade
