Mark My Words (MMW): Draft Edition

DWalker, IMO, is a 3T and most teams will see him as such. He doesn't have the base to be a 1T/NT. He presently has quickness and agility not many players have ever seen at that size. Whether coaching wants him to slim and trim to become a Chris Jones, or bulk and develop to be a Vince Wilfork depends on the coaching, but after watching video of him, I think he dropped from a late1/2nd round guy to a late 2/3rd round guy. Not a day 3 guy.

The Cowboys have a young line that could very well gel into a pretty good OL this year. That said, with the loss of Zack Martin, it will be interesting to see if they'd still take a back at 12 versus taking someone in the trenches.

As Cal Poly noted on FZ, you have to think that Jerry has 2016 in the back of his head where they took Elliott and to Jerry that solved all their problems.

Unless the draft board is wasted, there is zero chance I would be fine with a RB at 12.

notre dame cb ben morrison will be the best in his class when looking back at this draft class.

kansas rb devin neal will be a draft day steal...day 1 starter and multi x pro bowler.

ohio st og donovan jackson will be the single best off. lineman in this draft class.

ole miss dt walter nolen will be the first dt off the board on draft night.

Let's just bring in hard workers and overachieving dogs. We don't need athletes with potential. Potential gets you beat. Jack Sawyer in rd 2 please. Tyler Batty the De from BYU . Let's load up on trenches, both sides of the ball. Then we can sort it out later in camp.

I can see that and agree with it.

Anyone here no what a mudder is? It's an old-school term. We need a few of those on this team. Some scrappy Jessie's that don't care about anything but beating up folks on Sunday . We haven't had guys in this team since well Zach Martin. I think maybe Hoffman and Bebee might be but we need alot more of this. We got too many dudes looking out for their brand and platform. Let's get some nasty football luvin Dawgs and purge the cupcakes off the team.

The Draft Show pod crew are bozos. Will Johnson is a dawg and he should be in consideration at 12 if he drops to us.

My gut is that Will Johnson will be a top target of ours. Who knows what's going to happen with Diggs, and I doubt they spend the money on Lewis. This team has consistently shown it values the CB position and will invest top picks in it

Pearce had an 80+ run grade this year. His run defense is incredibly underrated and he has the length to continue to add size unlike some other rushers in the class.
He will constantly get washed out playing 4-3 DE at the NFL level
Bigger faster players
If im the opposite OC i run right at him every single time and beat him up just like SF Detroit and Philly did with Micah
He will be Parsons light, good individual stats but only intermittent impact for the team when it counts

Adding this here before the Combine….Ekbuka will test out better than Burden.
I’d bet you a gillion dollars that doesn’t happen.

He has the size and frame to easily play around 260 and I just referenced a metric indicating his play against the run.

We can all have our opinions but I have seen / read anything with merit indicating he isn’t / won’t be a good run defender.

2yrs from now...
Lsu de sai'vion jones and florida dt cam jackson will be major steals of the draft.

What do you think happens for at least next 2 years (while he is putting on the weight) to the defense with 2 DEs at below 250 lbs in Pearce and Parsons?

Parsons was 243 when drafted and 246 now in 3 years

This is a recipe for disaster

I've seen some reports that he has huge character concerns. I'm not sure as I don't know much about these guys personal life. Something to keep an eye on though, if true.

I don’t understand so much love for Henderson, his vision is questionable at best and has durability concerns
Durability worries me with him. If he can avoid the injuries, he will probably be fantastic. I just don't know if he can. I trust the other top backs more (Jeanty, Hampton, Johnson).
