Rate the last movie you saw

Watched a cheesy 80s teen comedy The Wild Life
Guess some of the people who wrote Fast Times did this one.
Nowhere as good as Fast Times.

However I just caught some of the opening credits and it said music by Edward Van Halen

So mostly when the guy was running around in his car you could tell it was Eddie playing the guitar music.
Oddly enough there was at least two pieces of music in the movie that would go on to be part of Van Halens future hits.
Good enough and Right Now.

So the highlight of the movie was just listening to the small bits of music and see if it became a song later.

Dangerous Game: The Legacy Murders 7/10

It is your typical survival type of movie, Jon Voight is the patriarch of the family where only one can survive. It kept me engaged, had a little Saw vibe to it.

New on Netflix. Nothing special. An action movie with a bit of comedy built in.
Not great but not a bad watch for some simple entertainment.

Again. Nothing special but ok.
In some ways you just want to get the people to do a simple thing to help but they seem oblivious to the obvious.
Like the little girl, just turn the overhead light on while playing video games or sleep with your light or lamp on in your room. Hell the crazy lady from the other house figured it out with candles.

Have never heard of this movie.
S Weaver, Robert DeNiro and C Murphy

I liked it. Not oscar worthy Just a cool movie.
Maybe it was I had never heard of it .

Hereditary - uhhhh. I'll be honest, after a certain scene in the movie with the brother and sister, I turned it off. Came back later yesterday and finished it.
8/10 - movie
10/10 - horror
10/10 - acting - Toni Collette is excellent

It's really a movie that kinda stays with you once you grasp what all was going on...and to me that's the definition of a good horror film. Some very uncomfortable scenes in this one

That is one of those movies that I vividly remember due to being a young teen. I compare that movie to Strange Brew, both early 80’s movies that I watched on HBO after the parents went to bed :muttley:

From what I understand, it was supposed to be the sequel to Fast times, if you look closely, Ron Wood of the Stones makes a cameo appearance in the movie

The wife and I watched this, I liked it, if you like 60's music, it's a good movie

Never heard of this. Someone said if you like Guy Ritchie action style movies, and I do, you will like this.

I agree. I liked it.

It is not as good as some of the Guy movies but it is in that general area.

If you like some of his movies...check it out.

I got around to watching Star Trek: Section 31 last night. I guess I can sum it up by asking, why would the legendary Star Trek brand lend their name to this awful mess? What a bunch of garbage, with all due respect to the legendary Michelle Yeow.

Yeah that was a complete mess.

The main good and bad. The good? The film was made in the style of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War. The bad? This film does not measure up to those two predecessors. The plotline was not nearly as complex as those two were.

The action was solid. Wilson's shield play was outstanding. Heck, a few times it looked better than Rogers was.

I do not have a problem with the transition of Steve Rogers to Sam Wilson, which occurred in the comics. That said, I believe that, while Anthony Mackie's acting underscored the transition in its presentation, I think he was playing the new Captain America too stiffly at times. His body language wearing the suit was more like Chris Evans sometimes: like a board. Evans bulked up for that particular 'super soldier' look. Mackie's build is a bit slimmer, which did not detract from how he visually appeared multiple times as The Falcon. Otherwise, I thought he did a good job overall.

Much of the setup is placed upon the Disney+ series, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Sure. The audience does not need it for the movie, but it would certainly come in handy. The general audiences, who are only following the MCU from what is seen in theaters, have only the end of Avengers: Endgame as its plot reference for Sam Wilson and certain supporting characters. It will get expected 'What the..?' reactions for that reason alone.

The main villain is not awe-inspiring, WAAAAAY overdue (you will understand if you watch the movie), does not get the screentime I *think* the character deserves. On second thought, that might have been a good thing considering how they intertwined his face time throughout.

Love Harrison Ford but (as I told a friend) he only made me wish more that William Hurt had lived to reprise his role again. Ford being Ford works for a lot of movies and television series but his performance did not completely click for me. Seemed out of phase with being President Ross, which is kinda funny to me since I loved him as President Marshall in Air Force One.

Really disliked how they literally boxed Carl Lumbly and his character. Surely, a modified screenplay could have used him more. A lot more.

Wilson's sidekick is back. I love the actor's energetic enthusiasm, which usually rubs me the wrong way in other films.

I love Scarlett Johannson. I love Florence Pugh. I will leave it at that (moviegoers will know what I mean  ).

Not a spoiler since there are visuals in at least one teaser: buckle up if you thought (and hoped) they had gotten completely away from everything Eternals related, lol.

As always and like pretty much everything he does, Giancarlo Esposito made the most out his appearance. Should have used him more as well. I'll shut up.

New avatar time.

The tale of two movies.
First part is boring and more of a slow love tale.
Second part ramps up the action and visuals

It is ok for a movie that was not released in theaters
Some of it kind of reminds me of the last of us show and the natalie portman scifi movie called Annihilation.

Captain America: Brave New World

5/10

If you were looking for the Marvel rebound, keep looking.

Disney and Marvel’s disappointing MCU streak continues, and despite numerous rewrites and reshoots, this film is a mess.

Julius Onah does a poor job of directing in this one, and the lines feel ‘read’ rather than acted. At no point is there an emotional connection with the audience.

And things just ‘happen’ in a poorly constructed and contrived story. This treatment was not worthy of a major motion picture.

I can feel a corporate machine meddling and sabotaging the product by going cheap. And they’re also just burning through comic characters and stories as one-offs. Red Hulk is thrown in here and quickly put back on the shelf, likely never to be seen again.

I fear the same one-shot fate for the Sentry in the upcoming Thunderbolts* film.

I can see why Marvel ran back to Downey and the Russo’s, but I fear that even they might not be able to fix what’s broken.
