Spotrac 2025 projected Franchise Tag numbers

Pretty sure the only team that is even considering a tag this year is the Bengals and Higgins again. This free agent class is so weak that there is not really anyone else who is even tag worthy.

Yeah actual a salaries are interesting to look at. Only Dak and Watson have base salaries over $30m this year. Dak is over 50% higher than the # 3 guy.
Well, a lot of the big contracts are backloaded to free up cap space and a lot of money is given to them in the signing bonus too b/c that money can be spread over 5 years. The only number that matters in the end is guaranteed money. We fell into the same hole as Cleveland in that regard.

Thats a measure of how badly we overpaid Dak. If the average of the top 5 paid QBs is 39M, Dak should be less. He's not even close to a top 5 QB.
I remember when the “Dak over Dallas” fans (like Rockport, AC, Rambo, Ken, etc) celebrated when Dak was stupidly given a new contract for $60 million/year.

And then most of those fans ran away and hid after a few weeks.

hey, what happened to Rockport anyway?

Right about ken; but AC and Rambo are still happy we paid

A 2nd tag is going to be quite a bit more than that listed tag. Enough to make it quite foolish for a #2 WR!

Agents have pretty much killed the backloaded contracts by insisting on shorter 4 and 5 year contracts that pay guaranteed money upfront. Why so many teams are having to resort to prorated contracts into void years!
