Turpin as WR 2 or 3

He did a lot with the reps he had last year. So give him more reps..... I feel like, right now, Jalen Tolbert might be better than the available options in FA. I also feel like Turpin can be a 2 or at least 3. He's really improved as a player. His next leap would have to be refining his route running. But I truly feel our starting lineup can be Lamb, Tolbert and Turpin. It has the potential to be a lethal combination if both Tolbert and Turpin can reach their highest potential. Like they may not be the tallest or biggest. But the potential for them to be one of the best trios in the league is there if the staff can maximize these players.
Got to be careful not to overuse Turpin due to his return abilities and his small frame. I think he will have a role with the offense, but it won't be a major one. Believe Campbell might get more play as a receiver.

Clearly they aren't happy with Tolbert or they wouldn't of been looking to draft a high receiver and continue to look at other options. Tolbert in my opinion is more of a #2 at best.

He is not a number 2. He is barely No. 4

CeeDee
Tolbert
Mingo (X)
These are the 3 WRs as of now. I don't trust Tolbert to be physical enough to be on the line the whole game and block in the run game like Mingo should be able too.

Turpin is a match-up guy as a WR, if there's a slow CB or a defense plays a certain way then let Turp expose the defense. Turp also gets carries, so his usage is fine imho.

. Hes probably a 10ish snap guy once again would be my guess. The Cowboys have guys on the roster who can steal his snaps at RB, and competition for those slot snaps is very real.
+`1 ..........even with Campbell and Blue

The more speed teams have to worry about, the better..........

No Turpin just physically cannot be a #2. Even in today's NFL that plays more 3 WR sets than 2, a #2 needs to play on the outside at times. That isn't ever going to be him. I don't even see how he can be a FT slot myself. Why try and make him something he isn't, just let him do what he is best at. A limited snap guy who you try to get the ball in space to a few times per game via the run or pass. That's what he is and there is nothing wrong with that. Tolbert is only a #2 or maybe even a #3 on this team because we have no one else.

With a better OL and run game and Schotty committing to the PAP better than McCarthy did, which should help these guys, I think with luck we could be OK in the passing game. Plus I see a bounce back year from Ferguson. He was banged up last year. I expect him to play like he did in 2023. But, being "ok" because you have a superstar in CeeDee and having it be a "lethal combination" are miles apart. There is no doubt there is a huge hole with a guy who can play on the outside opposite CeeDee and especially because he lines up in the slot as often as he does as well. So either you can't put him in the slot ever, which limits scheming him the ball a little, or you put Tolbert and Turpin (in your scenario) on the outside when CeeDee moves down to the slot which is horrible. It just doesn't add up. The only question is will it be Mingo or someone else already on the roster or another JAG that we add or will we add someone who can actually make a difference out there

I continue to forget about Campbell. Do you see him making the 53?
Probably depends on if they bring in another WR or not. If not I would think he has a really good chance.

Lamb, Tolbert, Turpin should be absolute locks.

Mingo is pretty likely to make it.

That leaves two roster spots at WR. Should be a really good battle for the bottom of the WR depth chart in camp. If they do go get an Allen or Cooper and only have 1 spot they go away from a veteran like Campbell and choose for a developmental guy to round out the roster.

They are begging Mingo to step and snatch the #2 spot........

Campbell’s wiki entry rates him a 4.31 forty.

Does he still have and can he use his speed.
