These kinds of stories pop up all over the NFL. It's the media trying to find something to catch the eye of the reader at a point in the year where very little is happening.

I don't know what constitutes a splash but based on how they've been drafting the last 3 years, they need a quality, not quantity, draft. I'd prefer they package and trade up and get 2 players that can actually play than 7 or 8 to fill in the ST's.

They need immediate help on that D and if they let Jones walk, they're going to be in a world of hurt in that secondary because Awuzie and Lewis are backups at best. Let Quinn walk and now they need another DE.

All of this McClay love escapes me. Most fans can pick in the 1st round. It's those 2nd and 3rd day picks that make the difference. And he's not had enough of them.

The problem with my idea of quality? They need to balance out the payroll with all of the top 6 paid at their positions so they need a bunch of cheap labor.
