Andy Reid was always a great offensive mind..

McCarthy was fired for being predictable and bland.

McCarthy also spent last year re-evaluating himself and looking at trends and analytics. Playcalling will now be a joint venture in Dallas. McCarthy is willing to change. When did Garrett do so? (not kicking him while he's down, just want to give McCarthy a chance).

Thanks for bringing that to my attention, makes me feel better that the Browns didn't want him, the Giants chose a special teams coach and the Panthers went with a college coach. It renews my hope that him lying to JJ to get this job that things are going to be GREAT!
Lol what a clown. It’s obvious your hate of MM is completely overboard, you didn’t even think he got interviewed by anyone lmao.

It’s so bad that you think the Browns and the post-Coughlin Giants are franchises who make good decisions lol. Just say you’re a hater and call it how it is

Reid’s message had also gotten old, all of these are side effects of coaching 8+ years in a city. If your only negative is things got stale cause you were employed 13 years, you’re doing pretty good. A year away with a team of football minds bodes well for my confidence in him

What's it going to be then, eh?

I don't think McCarthy is a thing like Jimmy Johnson. But I appreciate the OP trying to force things.

Yeah.. Let’s hope he wasn’t saying whatever he could to rebuild his image and get another job.

The thing about Andy Reid or any coach is if you have had 5 years and you haven’t been to a Super Bowl then it’s probably time to go.

The segment on TV where they showed him and the coaches working in his basement was impressive.

The breakdown of trends and analytics also impressed the Jones clan. No question the Cowboys will benefit from his efforts.

There was not a whole lot of teams interested in McCarthy, the Cowboys where the 1st and only team to interview him. The fact that he admitted he lied to JJ to get the job is worry sum to me. It's going to have to be a "wait and see" thing for me.
That is 100% false.

We’ll see..

Packers getting rid of him and getting to a NFC championship is not a good look.

I also don’t like that he is not calling the plays.

It’s easy to have success when you have HOF QBs. He should’ve had much more.

McCarthy is a good ole boys hire if there ever was one.. He’s NFL family.

I don't about that.....You do know Jerry and Stephen were strongly leaning toward a defensive coach (the word is Zim was high on their list ) according to Glazer.

I like him alright. I think our roster is going to be worse, though, so it’s hard for me to get too excited.
I understand.

Like the rest of us..

We all feel we have been ridden hard and put up wet.

It was a heck of a lousy season.

Did I say I hated him? No, I do not think so. I am just not going to jump up and down with excitement. Things did not end well for him in GB and he is going to have to prove he can still get the job done which is why I said its a "wait and see" thing for me. I do hope he gets the job done so you are waaaaay off base by claiming that "I hate him".

I don't think McCarthy lied. I just don't think new exactly the truth. Jerry is so assumptive sometimes. McCarthy had to put it to Jerry in a way that is not insulting and still not making it a big deal. Which I don't think it is.

He was also handicapped by a GM who believed in building through the draft and using FA to supplement the roster instead of a way to add proven impact players. Him and Stephen should get along great.

Although we have little to go by yet with Mike so far..

McCarthy reminds me of when Jimster came with his UM staff.

Jerrah wants a repeat of that success no doubt.

We shall see.

Clearly what McCarthy wanted and received was control over the coaches with their loyalties to him.

Not to Jerrah.

That's an excellent start.

All the talk about a college HC just seemed like a huge waste of time and money as we would have to deal with a learning curve doing that.

McCarthy and these coaches already know the ups and downs of their positions. Most would like to go on for their own HC opportunities.

When McCarthy did not return to football after 2018 and took his time off..

these coaches were obviously told he would hire them again soon.

He did.

So here we are..

We stand an excellent chance of the assistant coaches having done similar introspective reviews of their schemes as McCarthy has done.

No doubt McCarthy quizzed them about how they would go about coaching under him, what did they learn, what would they change or why stay the same, etc.

hes and never had final apprGarrett never did that in hiring his coacoval..Jerrah did.

So as much as we belittle Garrett, this was the only way he could coach in Dallas.

Not true for McCarthy.

McCarthy could have picked any of 6-7 teams in the NFL.

The fact he came here knowing our history is gratifying.

Somethings could go wrong for us still to come.

But I like Mike. They say teams take on their coaches identity.

We shall see exactly what that is soon.

Comments peanut gallery?

Everything I have highlighted from the OP is pure supposition. However, I agree with the sentiment that I like Mike so far too, just not particularly for your "reasons".
