It's amazing these Dak threads go on for 15, 20, 25 pages and they're all the same. No one changes anyone's mind - just the same guys repeating themselves over and over. :muttley:

So true!

The threads are completely pointless and ridiculous yet I occasionally have to try to set people straight.

People either get it and understand or they don't.

Mahomes had little impact his rookie year but he wasn’t redshirted and got some work which prepared him to start his second year.

Tua will be throwing at his pro day. There should be no issues with him throwing in camp and learning the offense. His hip is fully healed with no loss of blood flow. There are reports he may be ready to play week 1..........but its always an advantage for a rookie to sit back and learn a little.

Throwing at his pro day and during camp isn’t going to tell you a lot, he’s going to need live game action to be ready to play. There’s rookie QBs that have looked great at their pro day and throwing during camp and ended up going to bust. It’s a lot different when you’re facing a live pass rush. If he doesn’t get any live game action his rookie year it’s going to set him back. He’s going to go a long time without playing in a game by 2021. Whoever drafts him is going to spend a good portion of his rookie contract trying to get him ready to play.

Who says he sitting out the whole year? I'm sure come november or december when Miami's season is over they'll give him some game action.

I’m not saying he will sit out the whole year but there are reports that it’s possible he could be redshirted his rookie year. That would eliminate any game action until 2021. By the way the Commanders aren’t ruling out taking him at number two. Most feel Tua is a better prospect than Haskins. Ron Rivera inherited Haskins and made it clear the Commanders are looking at Burrow and Tua.

Interestingly, Haskins is the reason Burrow transferred to LSU. He beat out Burrow for the job. Personally, I think Chase Young is the best DE prospect since Julius Peppers. They'd be foolish to pass on him.

Allowing Cousins to walk has put the Commanders in a difficult position. They went for the cheaper option in Alex Smith and that didn’t work out. That forced them to have to burn a first round pick on Haskins who didn’t look great with the snaps he got. The Commanders would certainly hate to pass up a potentially great pass rusher but their QB situation is still up in the air. If Haskins were the flame out and they pass on Tua and he becomes a great NFL QB they’ll be a lot of regrets in Washington who haven’t had a solid, consistent QB in three decades.

Sure, but if haskins flames out, they are in the Trevor Lawrence derby. That guy is worth tanking a season.

Unless he’s the next Peyton Manning or John Elway he’s not worth tanking a season for.

Trevor Lawrence is the guy. He's been called the best pro ready QB since Andrew Luck. I'd tank twice for him.

After about 5 pages it turns into namecalling. Always does.

There’s no assurances of that. Too much of a crapshoot with college QBs to make that statement.

Obviously there is no assurance but he's safest bet in a loooong time. If he came out this year, he'd be the top pick.

It’s never really that safe drafting a QB. You just never know. According to several pro scouts JaMarcus Russell had the greatest pro day anyone had ever seen. He absolutely blew everyone away and ended up being the biggest bust in NFL history. There were a few teams that had Ryan Leaf rated ahead of Peyton Manning.
