I respect that, but if you were in his position and your peers were making more than you and you knew that in a year or two you could have been making a lot more........you might think differently. I hope he takes less, but I do not blame him one bit for asking for more. Asking for more and getting it allowed me to retire at 50. Settling for what was offered......I'd. Still be working. Just saying, Salud!

I am genuinely happy for you and your situation. For the record, I wouldn't offer Dak anything less per year that what Goff and Wentz make. In my opinion he is better than both of them and deserves to be paid accordingly. That said, while I support Dak getting all he can, as I have said in other threads, I don't want to hear Dak (or anybody that signs a massive deal) talk about how much they care about winning. Just be honest and say you are trying to maximize your earnings first and foremost.

This is what came up when I looked.

Matt Ryan, QB — $223.5 million
The $100 million total guarantee in the deal was the largest ever for an NFL contract at the time. The most guaranteed money now is Jared Goff at $110 million.

You bolded the wrong part my friend

Then let him go test that theory of yours and if some stupid team gives him a big contract then Dallas takes the picks and moves on. Dak is not a strong armed, accurate QB.
He was ranked 6th in accuracy of qbs that had 280 or more attempts last season. Also has a strong arm and can make any throw. Where do you get your facts from. The dollar store?

When dak plays on the 21st ranked defense in efficiency and worst special teams unit in the league holla at me. O btw I bet you wanted to resign byron jones to an elite deal when he played on that defense. But dak was the leader of the 2nd ranked offense. Next please

Nope don’t want to overpay Jones either, next!

Here goes another poster with the lazy opinion of "not a strong armed, accurate qb". There is no basis for this opinion. None at all.

Damn I hate explaining basic things to you but:

Jared Goff #1 pick in the draft hence a big contract

Carson Wentz #2 pick in the draft hence a big contract

Dak Prescott #135 pick in the draft hence a small contract

Those are basic CBA economics and forgive me but Goff led the Rams to the Super Bowl, Wentz was the catalyst to position the Eagles for their 2017 Super Bowl victory and beat Dallas (and Dak) late last season to get into the playoffs.

Other than padded stats last season, what has Dak done for Dallas?????

Goff was awful in the playoffs leading Into the Super Bowl.

Wentz led his team to a first seed. The team then went through the entire playoffs, not skipping a beat without him and won the Super Bowl. That’s not an argument in favor of him, if anything it’s an argument against him. “Yeah we won the Super Bowl without you and then the following season went on a run and made the playoffs without you, but here is 100 mil guaranteed anyway despite the fact that the team has proven twice that they don’t need you”

Dak’s resume is absolutely just as good as both Goff and Wentz if you actually break down their individual play and not just use team accomplishments as your baseline which is just silly to do given the fact that football is the ultimate team sport.

There is no way on earth Dak isn’t worth the same as both those players, from a contract perspective.

Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer are Super Bowl winning quarterbacks. Do you give them creditfor "reaching the Super Bowl" and winning?

I don’t give either one credit because neither were productive and both were carried to their Super Bowl wins by their great defenses.

I didn’t bold it I copied and pasted it. It was already bolded. Google “what’s the most guaranteed money ever paid to an NFL player” and the Matt Ryan contract appears.

He was a 4th round draft pick so spare me the "he played for a mere $3M over 4 years BS". That is the CBA and he played out his contract. Now if he thinks $33M/AAV with $105M guaranteed is too low then go shop himself elsewhere.
He was reportedly offered that before last season and turned it down betting on himself that he would have a great year. I have a lot of respect for a man who bets on himself and then goes out there and walks the talk.

Dak plays offense genius and when facing decent teams Dak sucked. He couldn't do anything to lead the team to victory in spite of having a fully healthy, talented offense.

10 points scored against the Saints (lost by 2 points)
9 points scored against the Patriots (lost by 4 points)
15 points scored against the Bills (lost by 11 points)
9 points scored against the Eagles (lost by 8 points)

ALL LOSSES so how is that the defenses fault?????? If Dak is so due as you say then he couldn't figure a way to lead the team to any victory in those games???? That is 4 losses by a combined point difference of 25 points, or 6 points a game average. Had he been such the 'due' QB that you say he is worth he would have led Dallas to victories in those games.

Dak needs a CPA.

This offer is not net after taxes.

In Texas, no state taxes.

No luxury taxes.

He will get a 50% income tax assessment.

He will need to tax shelter his remaining income to protect it. He needs to file with the IRS for that.

He needs a charity to write off some of his gross income the moment he takes his first check.

Then he needs to pay off Garrett for being so bad he got fired and Dak finally got a REAL NFL coach out this mess Dak can win with.

So much to be done, so much money to spend.

Where do I sign says Dak.

And no Dak you cannot keep it all.

maybe he should “bet on himself “ again and sign the franchise tag

then your “respect “ for him will know no bounds

Drag a below average defense, terrible coaching staff and a horrendous special teams unit to the playoffs numerous times. He was the best player on our team last season

So it's everyone's fault but Dak's?????? What the hell kind of leader and, as you profess the best player on the team, can't lead his team past close games where the defense did their job but Dak SUCKED!!!!!!

Why any fan of a team would want any player on the team to get top dollar is beyond me

it defies logic but then logic is not everyone’s cup of tea

Because these guys risk their lives playing this sport so people like you can sit on your arse and watch from your couch and pretend like your a GM or coach. These players are why you can enjoy your Sundays. So when they want to get as much as they possibly can? They should. But instead guys like you want to tell them what they should take even though you'd never do the same in your profession.

The difference is a few million dollars. You know what this team has done with a few million dollars? Signed Cedric Thorton. Signed Nolan Carroll. So yeah if i'm a player why would I take a pay cut just for you to waste it on inferior talent?
