Expanded playoffs give this teams mediocrity something for fans to get excited about. Just think of how many more playoffs Garrett would have made under the new system!
Probably the same amount. Adding two more games wouldn’t have changed it. They would’ve gone 9-9 as opposed to 8-8.

Still hurts because now they have to sign Coop ASAP or let the bidding war begin in FA. Being Jerrah gave up a first and they will use the tag on Dak, Coop has all the leverage.
That always was the case. They were always going to have to overpay for Coop.

14 teams in the playoffs. 18 teams not.

I don't know if you can push it any further than that before it becomes a joke.

Agreed. I would hate to see the NFL expand any more than that.

The regular season games need to maintain their importance. What makes the NFL regular season great is that EVERY game matters so much. Unlike baseball or hockey or basketball. Every game is important and carries weight to it which causes happiness or frustration, when a team wins or loses.

Having more regular season games and more playoff teams which reduces the importance of each regular season game would be a mistake.

It’s also why college football is so intense. If your team is a clear national title contender, every game is like a playoff game, because one loss can mean your title chances are over.

Dak or Amari should be signed or franchised by tomorrow.

I agree. I hate it too, because Dak deserves better. He shouldn't be handled like this. He has been a great soldier and face of the team. He should have been signed 2 years ago. We wouldn't be here rigt now dealing with the clown show known as Jerryville.

Teams are not longer bound by the 30% rule in negotiating player contracts so hopefully that makes it easier to get deals done.

This is exactly why we’ve seen so few extensions and quiet offseason in general. Thing should pick up quickly.

Kind of reminds me of the NCAA Tournament when a 18-11 Duke team still gets a #4 seed....

Neither side will ever be happy. It's greed all around.
Yup, and Dak Prescott seems to be the epitome of this. Prescott has no existing deal so $33m/per for him is $33m/per, unlike guys like Goff and Wentz whose rookie contracts make their deals worth something in the high-20's yearly. On top of that he evidently wants to renegotiate again in 3-4 years, and to me that seems like pure greed. He'd be making over $30m a year and he's going to play hardball for a couple more? $33m isn't enough for you, Dak? You have to have $37m or $40m? He's not taking money out of Jerry's pocket. He's taking money out of the pot available to Jerry for signing other players. He's taking money out of the pockets of his teammates.

Don't even get me started on Prescott.

If you all don't hate him by now I don't know what to tell you. I would dance a friggin jig if the Cowboys let him walk.
