Our Triplets on offense will be expected to carry the team despite whatever defense we can field.

Jerry and Son have clearly laid out their priority and objective along with hiring an offensive minded HC and retaining our OC.

That's been the case for years. They seem to have forgotten the 90s SB teams had a top 10 defense.

Try to outscore everybody and when you lose 51-48 just blame the QB. :muttley:

Cap resources are heavily tilted towards the offense.

And if they are expecting the draft to fix the defensive woes, it's a flawed plan. One, you won't hit on every pick anyway. Two, rookies rarely make impacts.

They need to be more aggressive in FA on defense but like always what they are doing is just sitting on their *** waiting for the leftover bargain crap to sift through. And they wonder why they continually, year after year after year, field teams that have clear holes.

For example, I am sure they'd love to have Chris Harris to replace Jones. But they'll wait and wait and wait hoping no one signs him, and he comes cheap. But they often get burned there. If they want Harris, go get him. Don't wait for him to come to you.

It's the biggest flaw in this whole new age of Stephen's cap management.

Our playmakers are on the offensive side of the ball and we have to hang onto them. Quinn was a big loss but we had to pay Amari and we still have Dak to sign. We’re going to have to bank on the draft.

The reality is that we are a worse football right now than 24 hours ago. Quinn and Jones were two big pieces on defense. We kept our WR.

You can't tell me the plan was to get worse in FA and then nail the draft and fill all the holes there.

Good, that's what every team should do.

But it's also way too early to say that.

I think it's way too early to come to that conclusion. Let's see what we have after the draft. Still a lot of good players on defense that could be acquired.

I still think that you can lose jones and quinn but still improve the defense overall. If we landed two solid DTs, Chris Harris, and maybe an early draft pick we are in business. On top of that just getting rid of Rods 1993 scheme should be a bit of a plus.

And it wasn't like we had the greatest show on turf either they were an above average offense.
It was pretty much the best offense in the league, and there would be no doubt about that if not for JG hamstringing it.

sometimes in order to get better you must take a step back first. Its temporary. We have free agency and the draft to help us. Despite some of the stupidity of the front office. DT is a must. Chris Harris, a must. DAK LONG TERM IS A MUST. If we can fill those needs before the draft, we are playing with house money. We are going to have to fill the role vacated by Cobb with a draftee. Its a great year to do that.
