I would have rather seen him retire than probably embarrassing himself as a very soon to be 38 year old tight end that now has the speed of an offensive lineman. Unless he used as strictly a blocking TE he's going to tarnish he great legacy by trying to squeeze another year of playing.

I've loved Witten as a Cowboy but maaaaan, Big Mike dropped the hammer.

Yes he dropped the hammer, but has failed to provide any nails. This team isn't lacking in just talent, but also warm bodies. We may be the only team in the league that says screw it we don't need 53, we'll just go with 38 or so :).

Glad to see Witt move on though and hope he enjoys Vegas.

Loved the Man, consummate professional on and off the field but it was time to move on two years ago from Witten, but I wish him luck with the Raiders.....soon to be Dallas Cowboy ring of honor and Hall of fame candidate..

Wow, minimum wage for a HOFer. Don't hang on too much longer, Witt.

which again tells me this is not about the money it is about the love of the game. I have heard many players say nothing can replace that feeling of stepping on the field on game day. Maybe he is hanging on too long but in this day and age where guys are doing it just for a paycheck it is refreshing to see someone who really loves this sport.

I've always loved Witten, but at the moment I don't think its hard at all to replace what he gave us last season.

I don't doubt that for one minute. He will always be of of my favorite Cowboys. Hope he has a good year, I would hate to see him start to erode his greatness.

Witt just doesn't seem like a vegas kind of guy. Thanks for the memories. Time to move on.

I agree but for me even if this season in Vegas (hard to get use to that) is not great, I will always remember his as a player of extreme heart and desire who has given everything he has.
