even last year we sat on hands and got stuck with sub par play at Dt,now we have lost Collins and Quinn.essentially we need 3 new starters on the DL and maybe 1 or 2 backups.I feel there is no urgency and intent to be proactive on this matter.

Quinn was wildly overpaid and Collins wasn't coming back regardless.

With an entirely new coaching staff there was going to be a lot of turnover anyway, look for players to be signed that have some previous experience with McCarthy, Nolan, Edwards, etc.

They need to sign a mid tier starter like Jefferson, Shelton, Pierce, Allen, Harris and then get a good cheap rotational peice like margus hunt or Robinson

Draft can then get a starter at WR #3 and safety

I am positively stumped but somewhat intrigued by what they are doing at DL.

So what we have left right now is......... Lawrence, Armstrong, Jelks, Jackson at DE and Woods (who I think is a RFA, right), Wise at DT........... and then Crawford as a swing.

We don't seem to be linked with any quality DTs or DEs at this point in FA. So while its kind of disturbing that there seems to be no sense of urgency along the DL, I am also positively intrigued by what their plan is. I am guessing it's a few draft picks and some bargain bin chum in FA after the dust settles next week, but who knows.

It is frustrating that they don't seem to really value having a dominant DL.

PS - LOL, I forgot Hill at DT. How could I forget that guy!

You are impatient. You had to know we wasn't getting involved with FA in the early days. That's Stephen Jones's way.

Full scale panic going on already. Or still.

Are you the same ones that went whole hog in on Daniel Wise last year. What about him?
I was not impressed but maybe he will be better.

McCarthy said offense would not make a lot of changes but when it came to defense has said there would be some major changes. I don't think he is forgetting about defense, let this all play out.

It's still early but you know how the Boys do it. They wait till the 2nd or 3rd round of FA to try and prove they can find gold where other teams might have missed. Bet you Dontari Poe will be on their radar.

So do we care about making the team better, or are we going to do open tryouts to the general public...

Looks like i better get in shape, we might need it.

that way might not work now with so much activity already in FA,we need to shore up atleast the DT position, cant be forced to draft them because DT position is not that great in the upcoming draft.

Hey brother, we are in agreement but unfortunately doing things that no longer work is not a reason for the Cowboys to stop doing them. Look how long it took them to figure out employing Garrett as the HC needed to stop.

no.....its not.
McCarthy is obviously in the process of "fixing" this defense...now if they don't address the DLine in the draft...then you can say that.
we were never gonna be big early spenders in f/a.
