I want Everson Griffen badly, and it looks like Randy Gregory will be back but who knows with Goodell. Over the cap is showing that we have $25.3 million available & I anticipate they’ll cut Crawford to free up that $8mil if we can get one of these guys.

There are a couple of guys that could make sense, but overall this is pretty worrying. Who are we banking on across from Lawrence? Armstrong? Gregory? A rookie?

As of right now it would be Crawford and potentially Randy Gregory. Someone posted earlier ‘why haven't the Cowboys cut Crawford’, I haven’t opened the thread but thats why - currently he’s really all we have.

Now that you say that, it makes perfect sense. They want to move to a 3-4 at some point, and Crawford’s natural position is probably 5T. I can imagine packages where Lawrence plays upright with Crawford, Woods, and McCoy as the down linemen. Sprinkle in a little Randy Gregory assuming he can still play and you’ve got a pretty solid hybrid defense.

No to Griffen he's a headache. You know what I would do ? Just as well.im not running this ship !
I'd sign Dak tonight, 4 years 35 million per. If they wait till Mahomes resets the QB market we are screwed.
Take that money and sign Clowney. Him on one side r and let's and Lawrence on the other .... come on. Big contract no doubt and would also cost us one of the 3rd round compensatory pics next year, but damm. Get Kinlaw next to McCoy, 2nd round best CB, 3rd round best Safety. Fill out roster...

“Ugh...ugh...ugh...we really felt, as a team...the proclivity (now listen to me), when it came right down to it, the ummm, confidence....of knowing we would have Randy on the field by Week 8, so there was no urgency to fill that need in free agency....none at all.” — Jerruh

Frankly I would like to make deal for Ngakoue, not sure what the asking price would be trade wise. I keep the franchise tag on Dak though. If he performs at a high level again this season under a supposedly "better" coaching staff then he's earned it. But those losses against Patriots, Saints and Eagles was unacceptable and the main reason I don't give him any guarantee outside the one year until he proves otherwise. I can start a Cody Kessler long-term for significantly cheaper and have him manage a game while being able to blow a significant amount of money on another DE or a "few" starting corners with the money Dak is going to get and still spend a high draft pick on QB.

It's been so long since we had one it's easy to forget the importance of interior pass rush. Bucky Brooks and Daniel Jeremiah had clip where they talked about teams needing two pass rushers one on the edge and one on the interior. I think Kinlaw or Blacklock would excel in that role. Unless they think Hill will turn the corner.
