I have not paid much attention to Ha Ha since he has been in the NFL. This is more of a starter kit for those of you that are in the same boat as myself. Interesting comparison for the Jeff Heath haters towards the end as well. Is Hilarious a better player than Heath? You make the call.

What I found odd about the tackles shown in the video was that he was going low to make tackles when he didn't need to. Primarily in the first example. Ha Ha had the angle, why go low?

An upgrade over Heath should catapult the defense near the top of the league. High expectations for our defense since the worst safety in the league is no longer on the field. Combine that with Marinelli being gone and McCoy being signed and there should be no excuses for the defense anymore. A 3 & out also shouldn’t gas then for the next 2 weeks.

Ive heard that he was afraid to make tackles. Im not saying that is why he went low but its something that I will pay attention to when we start playing football.

Kris being gone will be the biggest difference. The coaching change on defense might be all we needed but I think Ha Ha is a more than solid replacement.

I really didn't have a problem with Heath but most seem to be agreeing with you that Ha Ha has some really good instincts.
I liked the physical hitting that Heath brought but to the table and he would on occasion make a big play but he would give up some too. Hopefully Dix helps this secondary.

Yeah I didn't want to say that after looking at a play or two. Voch was spot on when he described it as weird tackles. The only way I can describe that first tackle is making the play with the least amount of contact. Make of that what you will.

With that mentality it may lead him to miss tackles that he should make. Which may be why his tackles have gone down drastically over the last few seasons....but this is just a guess; I honestly have never watched a game and paid attention to Ha Ha. Now that will change now that he is a Cowboy. I'll be stuck at home this weekend so I'll have time to watch a few game tapes. Hopefully even with the weird tackles that does not take away from him being a sure tackler....hopefully this was just a one in a million type of play.

first of all..i watched the video, and concluded as I already did, prior to watching it. KNOW THIS...HA HA isn't a box safety. He is more of a JAG...a finesse cover "off safety". Not the best tackler or willing. That's just what he is. Know this too...he takes chances and gets turnovers. He's pretty good at that. He tends to get burnt because of that too. Gotta take the good with the bad with him. Lastly, he is simply a bridge player and doesn't change our draft strategy one bit. We are still drafting a safety within the first 3 rounds. He buys us time to coach up said safety before we throw him out on the field to the wolves. THUS, why just a cheap 1 year deal. That seems to be the plan guys. Don't get all overly excited or worked up about this signing...good or bad. It doesn't matter. It is what it is...he is a placeholder. Nothing is promised. I do like the low risk high reward factor he brings to the secondary. He has a little bit of swag factor to him too. We need that.

I’d still draft McKinney with the 17th pick and improve the back end of our defense. McKinney can play SS and HaHa can play FS (I think that he’d be better at FS). Roll Tide safety combo

That's why Heath had no shoulders left last season. I always have had a soft spot for Heath. Not consistent at the safety position but wow he has made some spectacular plays for us at times. Very devoted and committed player, great special teamer, hope all goes well for him with the Raiders.

I despise these 1 year contracts. Especially for younger guys that are decent. It makes all the sense for players that are confident and will bounce back and zero sense for the team paying them to prove themselves. Essentially if Clinton Dix has a good year, he will be gone next. Zero continuity. Idiotic.
