I'd love to hear the logic on Crawford

Crawford is a $9.1MM cap hit this year and would save $8MM if cut.

He's not a starting player for us. Lawrence is the LDE, McCoy is better and likely the starter at the 3T, Woods is bigger and more able to hold up at the 1T spot and Crawford is not a RDE.

I don't think Crawford is a bad player by any stretch. He serves a purpose and is a capable backup. But that's all he is........... a backup. And when you watch this organization penny pinch the hell out of FA, it's strange that they seem content on letting a backup DL eat up nearly $10MM in cap space.

There are two starting caliber RDEs out there in Golden and Griffen. Clowney would be a third if you want to think big. We lack a starting RDE. Cut Crawford (Or even restructure and save 4-5MM in cap space) and bring one of them in. Crawford would not be hard to replace in FA as there are some backup caliber DTs out there.

I'd love to get a few JW Blues in Jerry and listen to him explain why they value Crawford that much.
Jerry could say well....Crawford like Canty, Hatcher or Ware could go on to be very productive elsewhere with another coaching staff.
If Crawford is open to cap help then so be it but I think Cowboys do a very good job of honoring contracts if you agree to adjustments.
Crawford gave up his body for this team. Garrett's philosophy never allowing Crawford to settle into DE or DT; always had his off-season regiment switching.

Tyrone deserves every penny. Let Nolan figure it out. Looks like a good fit so far....West Coast guys ldk

A career high 6 sacks in a season for Gregory. Where he wasn't even the designated 'starter' on gamedays. (but that's yet another symptom of the dysfunctional arrangements on this team). Anybody 'counting' on him to somehow walk in a be a force are fooling themselves, and basing their opinion on hopes rather than facts.

It's not. The strengths and depth of this draft do not align with our current strengths and weaknesses.
Sure it does. We have a weakness at slot WR. This draft is deep for that position. But hate on.

Ooh! Our #3 receiver? Stop the presses! Yeah, according to the forum dunce, we need to invest big resources in a 3rd banana receiver guys.

But hate on.

Hate begins and ends with you.

There you go with the name calling again. But you damn right I want them to draft a slot WR like Tyrek Hill.

What's calling people 'haters'?

Let me guess, like everything else, that never occurred to you, right?

Not the same and you know it. Hey, we may sign Poe. Wondering what kind of hate slant you're going to put on that if it happens. I'm sure it will be something.

Double standards on full display. And you still don't even see it.

Go look in that thread before making another statement that turns out to be wrong. I think it would be a great move.

My take is Crawford's versatility and that it's been mentioned he's open to a pay cut make him a keeper. I figure the base defense would look something like this if he's still on the squad opening day:

RDE - Crawford (285+lbs.)
RDT - Poe/Harrison (340+lbs.)
LDT - McCoy (300lbs.)
LDE/LEO - DLaw (265lbs.)

If Gregory is reinstated, he's a rush specialist.

..on the bright side to this. We have backup in a bar situation.

Did you see those attempted punches? I've never seen someone that much bigger than everyone else do so little (off the field, on it of course I have, we all have).

Oh please, cut Crawford and use the money in a defender that makes impactful defensive plays. Crawford has never impacted a game or season for the positive.

I dont understand either. I think we should keep him, he does a lot of dirty work that no one sees. But he needs to be cut down from 9.1 to 4.5. Dont forget he plays almost every pos along the D line. At that number he is a good guy to keep
Crawford actually volunteered for a pay cut to stay with team earlier in the year
With the exception of the DE. Each position on the D line has the same objective. Beat the man in front of you to the ball. I'd actually try to trade Crawford for a 5th or 6th round pick.

That’s the problem. Crawford never does anything to catch my attention. He has been massively overpaid considering that he is not much more than a good rotational player.

He better stick to football. MMA is just not an option.
