Agree. Frederick was a shell of himself last year anyway... McGovern is a really good prospect and he came into the league with nfl strength and anchor immediately.

Even if McGovern can't handle the job. We know Looney can. It's a loss, it's not that massive of a loss...plus, we could use some cap redistribution towards the defense

Is Connor Williams really going to be ready after ACL surgery? That's a quick recovery for a big man

It was in November and the recovery time now is about six months, so he should be fine for camp.

It creates another HUGE hole on a team with already too many huge holes. The line pretty much crumbled last time he was out.

The strength of our team is now a weakness. Any chance of the team making a deep run pretty much just went out the window.

Lol you’re killing me man.

Name the center of the Chiefs? 49ers? Dallas will be fine

This hurts, Fredrick is a great guy and a better player, if that’s possible. Always enjoyed watching him control the line on Sunday’s. He seems at peace, which is the main thing. I pray he’s healthy, and remains that way, here’s to hoping for a great life after football!

I feel like the organization knew about this, hence why they addressed the safety position as well as the DT position, this allows them to use a high pick on a center. Pardon me for asking, but hopefully someone more in tune with the draft can help, how does this class of centers look?

2nd and 3rd round is the earliest I’m seeing them projected

What a joke!!!!!!!!!!! Travis should of came out well before this time & date with this decision. Personally I think some of his thinking is because of the virus. If JJ & Co knew about this retirement then they probably have a plan in place to use a 1st or 2nd rd pick to replace Travis. Does anyone know how this is going to affect the cap? Are we going to get hit with a lot of DEAD $$$$?

The CAP gets treated the same as if he got cut or traded. He will count $11 million against our CAP this year but will be completely off the books next year. Sucks because we could have used that $11 million of CAP space.

Interesting that both Floyd and Frederick had their careers cut short by fluke illnesses or mishaps

At least his cap hit comes off the books. There's that?
