the team around him was junk. He was up against it in FB Siberia. He has a chance to jumpstart his career in Dallas .
I think you are looking at the name and not actual play. Cowboys have 3 corners we know for sure. Draft a corner or 2 and we are good.

Major pass on him. Would rather draft starting CB with 1st round pick.

if push come to shove and it was either Logan Ryan or Dre, I want Logan. He is a skosh better and has a ring or 2. Recent playoff success..

we can still draft a corner and signing Dre wouldn't be a progress stopper in the scheme.

Nope.
we should be trying yo add a young CB piece and foundation for years to come in the draft, .not settle for these aging, decent /JAG types.

Neither Kirkpatrick or Denard lived up to their draft status, so it seemed. And now the Bengals are purging them. However, as some vet depth or TC competition, I would not mind them. But they do not offer anymore as starters then Lewis, Awuzie and even Brown at this point. Still need to draft a CB to develop though.

I would not complain, but wait until after the draft, as well, after they do not count in the comp pick formula either. If they sign elsewhere then no big deal.
Now that I types that out, I doubt very much they come here, nor should they, and that is fine.

in the age of free agency, its hard to develop THEN KEEP A YOUNG GUY. Why develop a guy only to have them leave ? I see your point..and its a good one. But there has to be a middle ground. A MIX. We need to find that sweet spot like the Chiefs, Seattle, Ravens,Patriots, Titans etc.

No not at all. There's no centers in the draft that I believe are better prospects than McGovern.

There are 100% better prospects. There are very good centers in this draft. Do a little research.

Didnt they sqeak several nice seasons out of a completely cooked Terrence Newman when he left Dallas?

Does that work in reverse somehow? Are we owed something by the universe?

I would tend to think the team needs to add a vet corner.....I also expect Al Harris to inject life into that bunch btw, fwiw.

I doubt it - I think we could still realistically see a CB drafted in 1 or 2 depending on the board. Out of all our defensive positions, it's the most iffy spot, but by resigning Brown/Goodwin, the depth may not change that much.

If the worst team in football is letting you go it says more than enough....

You gotta have 4 playable guys at CB IMO. Would be nice to bump Canady to a 5th CB/ST role
Wasn't Canady rated higher at corner than all 3 guys in front of him right now?

And I do agree you need 4 or 5. I think this team typically takes 4 into Sunday's. I have them drafting a corner in this draft as well.

Ya but small sample size, and with coverage metrics, you have to ask who he was covering
