Why Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts to the Dallas Cowboys makes sense

It makes sense because he has a similar skillset so, as a backup, they wouldn't have to change the offense much.

Anything beyond that is just fluff.
I didn't see Dak in college aside from highlights but when he came here...he looked to be NFL ready based on how he played that first year. Jalen is just too far down the road for that. Someone takes a chance on him and I'm not opposed to the Cowboys doing it.....but I think its a 2nd or 3rd round pick you have to invest in him.

I don't believe that Dak was NFL-ready his rookie year.

I don't hate Hurts in the 3rd, I just wouldn't.

Hurts makes sense as a backup. I think it’s smart to have a backup QB that can maintain the playbook if he has to come in. Don’t have to shake things up drastically

It only makes sense if you plan on doing it later on and developing him. It does not make sense to draft him in the 1st 4 rounds.
id be ok in 4th or later but there are more vital concern to tend to in early rounds. We need immediate impact personnel.

Sure, because the last time we drafted for backups and special teamers things went so well,,,,

Funny how the most staunch Dak haters... the ones who say they want anyone but Dak... have absolutely nothing to say about adding Jalen Hurts.

Hmm, it’s almost as if Dak and Hurts share a certain quality that makes them both equally undesirable in those haters’ eyes!
What quality would that be? I'm not understanding you.

I think every Dak "hater" would take Mahomes or Wilson, though, if that's what you're getting at.

I don't get it? Because they are similar players? Are they not? I wouldn't know but I keep reading thier style is similar. I don't watch enough to know.

I'm not a Dak hater. Just don't get what your saying. If both players have a similar skillset wouldn't it make sense for a Dak hater To not like Hurts?

I don't hate him in the 3rd I just hate that I'm missing out on a solid piece to put on defense. This defense has to gain some cheap depth on it and I don't know any other way other than the draft.

J. Hurts won't last until the 4th round.
He won't. But that's the only way I'd take a shot on him.

I watched every OU game last year and Hurts held that team back. If Kyler had still been on that team, they would have given LSU a run.

He’s not an accurate thrower, doesn’t make good reads, and was selfish with the ball when OU ran the option. Waste of a draft pick.

I am seriously considering bookmarking all threads suggesting the front office might draft a quarterback in the first three or even four rounds. Anything is possible but I extremely doubt it will ever happen in the next five years minimum if Jerry Jones has any say in the matter.

Then again, that would be a LOT of bookmarks...

I will punch my self in the ball if we draft Hurts! Where is he going to play? RB? WR? DB? He's Michael Bishop w/o the arm.

Are we going to do this every day until the draft is over?

Jalen Hurts cannot play QB folks. He is a good leader. He has a strong arm. That does not matter in the NFL. He CANNOT read defenses. He CANNOT anticipate throws. He is sometimes blind out there. And runs when given the chance. He is just an awful QB.

He has somewhat impressive stats only bc he spent his entire college career throwing to Calvin Ridley and CeeDee Lamb. Oklahoma is a system. They only produce system QBs. Mayfield? Bust. Murray? Bust

Hurts can’t see Ridley on the TD. And Ridley is the first read and right in front of Jalens face.

That is Jalen Hurts college career in a nutshell
