When I was a kid, Royal Blue was my favorite. As I got older. The combination of Red and Black. Today, I don't care so much as long as it's not colors that do not jive with me. (seafoam green for instance)

Royal Blue is the blue you saw when Kings and Queens (hence Royal) wore that were a blue velvet.

Seafoam green is actually a pretty nice color in a smaller room, when it's trimmed out with a dark wood, like mahogany or walnut.
