There’s no doubt we’re drafting a WR and relatively high based on some of the recent interviews we’ve conducted.

Mims, Higgins, Reagor, and I’m sure more to come as we get closer.

All of these guys are Top 100 guys. I’d argue Mims has a chance of going late R1, Reagor is a solid R2, as is Higgins (though I think there’s aN outside chance he could drop to early R3).

Point being, this team is not likely going to rely on one of the incumbents (C. Wilson, D. Smith, etc.) on the depth chart to step up and man the #3 spot. Rather, they are going to draft the team’s new slot.

Who do you think that should be?

Ceedee Lamb or Brandon Aiyuk

I have no problem taking lamb at 17. Obviously, he has to fall a bit for that to happen

Aiyuk at 51 would be a major steal. He also would have to fall. Hopefully that core surgery does the trick

I think after the top three guys the next ten could come off the board in ANY order as teams look for different traits in the player and to fit in different schemes.

@CalPolyTechnique do you think we look for a slot guy ? Van jefferson would fit nice

Van Jefferson is nice. Brandon Aiyuk is a favorite of mine.

It’s interesting the Cowboys are looking at bigger bodied receivers like Mims and Higgins as well. I like Pittman as another option if that’s the route they’re going.

3rd WR is a starter...we don't have a starting level player on the roster beyond Gallup or Coop right now. So yeah, I hope we take a WR in the top 3 rds. Luckily this is the perfect year to have that need.

Reagor, Aiyuk, or Pittman. Reagor is the preference though

Higgins at worst will be an early day 2 selection. Pittman/Jefferson/Bolden in that order for me.

I think Pittman can be a big slot. With him you still to play your WR's in different spots depending on matchups.

I just dont a see a Mike McCarthy offense not having 3 or more high caliber WR's

I can even see us taking two in the first four rounds

Im still looking for some film study on Pittman. I found one from a Panther site, but it wasn't All 22, showed too many plays that didnt involve him at all. And had too many plays where he wasnt even on screen

I think you can get a really solid WR in the 3rd or 4th and still get a top 100 guy.
Absolutely.

Have a feeling round two is going to be about DLinemen and DBs. Teams will figure there will be WRs to be had later on and your typical second round talent will be there in the 4th, maybe 5th round.

I'm not at all concerned about WR3. It may even be an UDFA Beasley type. Never can tell.

I dont see that. 3rd round talents like Van Jefferson and Bowden going in the 4th. Maybe even Hamler.

You might see a couple potential 2nd round prospects like Pittman, Claypool and Higgins go in the 3rd due to depth. But I don't think you will see any legitimate 2nd round talents go day 3
