Ya think? Noooo, not ole Red. :muttley:

:laugh::clap:

 You said that to say what? Rodgers & Brees didn't win their ONLY Superbowl in their 4th year in the NFL either. Carr never even won a playoff. And the other ones you had mentioned have been in the league much longer than 4 years. Not a very good comparison whatsoever.
EXACTLY!
What makes you think the poster is a "gent"? F.Y.I the smart one's are the lady posters! :p

I tip my hat to all of the wonderful lady posters on the forum. Thanks, for the reminder.

Pretty darn good. Just a reminder of how accurate Dak was under duress on 3rd & long in 2019. Here's to a better 2020.

Cheers!!! :flagwave:

I will just say it again. This is meaningless and does not even stand up to a reasonableness check.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/P/PresDa01/splits/2019/

Daks true stats say:

2019 - 3rd and 4+: 75/126 - 59.5% -
converted 41.3% of those 3rd downs -
on those stats alone he would have had to have a total of 29 drops and knocked down passes on 3rd and 4+ alone to get to 64.3% accuracy
(Cowboys had 36 drops as a team total in 2019 by one measure and 24 by another)

That does not even include passes that were caught that were inaccurate.

So while I don't think a conversion rate of 41% is bad and is actually probably in the top 5 or so, that is a better comp than some stupid accuracy percentage which takes nothing important into account like first and foremost:

Did he choose the right receiver to throw to! Because if you only converted 41% when your accuracy was 64% to the first down line, something is way off!

Once again, 3rd & 5+ passes is what this thread is about.

If you can't support this very good franchise QB, what are you doing here?
I support the team. Not individual players.
I don't want to have a QB with a huge salary cap impact that cannot afford to surround him with enough talent to carry him.
If Dak was a game changer that could carry the team I wouldn't have no problem with him.
That new contract he will get will be an albatross around this teams neck for years.

I'm with you on not wanting to pay Dak top overall pay, but what can one do at this point since the QB market dictates top QB pay unfortunately? That is something the league owners, NFLPA and the NFL would have to look over if they ever want to take control of such an out of control ever increasing positional yearly pay.

you can be a fan and also believe your eyes and not just be a blind follower....apparently a distinction lost on you....there will be no questions here, despite what you think and see, says our fearless leader....

Your eyes are certainly much different than the Cowboys organization, Cowboys players, coaches, coaches and players around the league, ex-players, sports commentators and fans. Congrats, you are in the minority.

You're right. Troll named @Brax is posting again.

This Troll needs to remember 8-8 record is a reflection on the team as a whole, not just a QB.
I always thought in the last few minutes of a game when the Cowboys are behind and they get 1 first down then go three and out, it's definitely the team. Those receivers have got to learn to slow down because at that time in the game every pass is a back shoulder throw.

You're talking about Romo.

1)Romo is gone. Done. Old news.
2)Romo at his best was a better QB than Dak overall, IMO. That won’t change (for me and many others) until Dak consistently out performs him, again, IMO. Only Dak can change my opinion, so don’t waste your time, bro!
