And because we have a first-round pick, we don't feel like the kid with coal in his stocking like we did last year.
Then again, Scrooge is a high-stakes deal away. ;)

For me the night before opening day of the regular season feels like Christmas Eve. After months of making changes and adding players you finally get to see what you have. The night before the NFL draft feels like the night before Halloween. You’re excited but you don’t know whether you’re going to end up with a trick or a treat. There’s a fear you could end up like Charlie Brown with a bag full of rocks.

I don't get hyped about football until early September. Nothing in the off-season gets me hyped.

Been thru too many to get excited.

Especially this one being remote and all.

I think we all are going to be very bored with this tonite
Becuz no contact b/w teams and players teams will be reluctant to trade.

All of us predicting trades to spice up our haul are going to be disappointed with what happens.

The Cowboys did have a 1st round pick last year and they used it on Cooper who was someone who already proved he could play in the NFL and not a college player who hasn't.

When I was much younger and the entire draft was on Saturday starting at 8:00am and going to anywhere from 8:00pm - 9:00pm and a couple years until 10:00pm I watched it all. As I got older I would watch the beginning and watched until the Cowboys made their 1st round pick and then either watched other stuff or did other things and checked back every little while to see when the Cowboys next pick would be. If when I checked back and they were only 1 or 2 picks away I would stay and watch and then repeat what I had just done.

Now with the 1st round on Thursday nights I watch until the Cowboys make their pick and then switch to something else. I do the same on Fridays and Saturdays that I used to do when it was all on one day. I just don't all excited about watching who other teams draft. After the draft I can scan and read the entire draft in less time than it takes teams to make their 1st round picks. As far as listening to what the draft gurus say about the players the Cowboys draft, it means nothing because the only ones that matter are the coaches and what they say and see in camp, preseason and regular season games. Anything they say about the players on draft day can be seen on videos later although what are they going to say other than how happy they are that they got that player.

Yay, something on live TV that isn't saying the world is going to end! Of course I'm excited.

I often call this as "Christmas in April"
And today (this evening) we get to see what the present is.
Last year we opened the present half way through the previous season.

This year, Santa Jerry, hopefully not hitting the JWB laced eggnog too much. :muttley:
