It was awful.

I shut it off... Wasn't watchable.

I found myself missing picks. Bc the announcement didn’t sound any different than any other part of the show. It lacked that excitement for the first syllable of the players name and the immediate reaction afterwards
I actually watched NFL Network broadcast, but I really enjoyed the presentation last night. It seemed less noisy for lack of a better word.

I know what you mean. Trey and the guys didn’t have to shout. Less obnoxious chaotic crowd shots. It felt smarter. I kinda preferred this telecast in an odd way.

Exactly.. Could there be improvements? Absolutely. But overall, I was good with it for what it was.

I thought ESPN’s broadcast was just fine. It highlighted how over-produced it is in most years. I thought this format got the job done and, frankly, would be fine with this sort of presentation moving forward.

This.

Plus it seemed to go by quicker. That was great...

I had the exact opposite experience.

After about pick 12, I pulled out my stopwatch on my phone to see how long between "THE PICK IS IN" showed up..and when they actually announced it.

I guess the personnel "fluff" is different when they're sitting in front of the crowd, with the stage in the background, and the silence right before Goody Goody Gumdrops announces the pick.

I was bored more often than not.

Any broadcast that controls Irvin and only allows him to speak when called upon is good with me.

I wonder if the ESPN people had a little talk with him before the broadcast? Remember his shouting match during one draft and how embarrassed the other guys on the panel were? That sealed his fate with the network.

What about the sap stories did you think it was too much

Based on the replies in the draft thread last night, I’m likely in the minority, but I actually like that presentation as opposed to the typical “OMG THIS IS THE WORST PICK EVER!!!” screaming we have gotten in years past on the broadcast.

Honestly, in today’s Twitter age, the live broadcast feels stale period. It has for years. The picks leak early, so the back-and-forth debate on who the pick could be just feels Iike a waste of time.

Getting to know more about some of the guys, and why some of them are so emotional in their moment of triumph, was enjoyable for me to watch.

Yea, I started watching on ABC, but quickly turned my attention to the Draft show. Dane Brugler is great. Stream was a bit behind, so I did keep the network broadcast on to see picks, but that was about it.

The weirdest part of the ESPN broadcast for me was when they were on split screen with the left half talking about somebody dying in a car crash and the right half a video of John Gruden throwing his hands in the air and celebrating his pick. It looked like Gruden was celebrating the death because Gruden started celebrating the moment they said the guy had died

True that. Bc the future of this is gonna be more interactive.

“Maybe I’ll use the #nfldraft hashtag and see my tweet scroll at the bottom”

you know what I mean? Like a pick is announced and then fan reactions start scrolling at the bottom. You’ll see funny one liners and stuff. Maybe allow memes etc.

How about when Jordan love seemed to read the screen about his dad who died from medical Demon.

He was elated to be drafted and then they just brought him down. Unless I mis understood how that all went down

I enjoyed it. My buddy and I were actually thinking this format is much better. Less hoopla .More informal. Just the draft.

ESPN did fine. Anyone complaining about it during our current situation just likes to complain. That seems to be the new normal now though.

I thought the shots of the players waiting and all of the bored family and friends around them was a waste.
I think if they do more of that the country will watch more. Wives and girlfriends I’m sure appreciated watching all the social aspects of eavesdropping into someone’s house.
Maybe tho add some more interaction between player and fan somehow? Kinda inventive the players to tweet or perhaps interview them while they’re waiting
